Lucic, Krug Lead Bruins Past Sabres 5-2

Milan Lucic and Torey Krug each found the net twice, sending the Bruins to a 5-2 win over the Sabres. Buffalo forward John Scott was sent to the dressing room following an open-ice hit to the head of Loui Eriksson.

Jarome Iginla appeared to net Boston's first goal of the evening, but credit eventually went to Milan Lucic, who redirected Iginla's slot shot into the net. Ryan Miller actually slowed the puck with his pads, but couldn't prevent from trickling through and sliding over the goal line. Lucic added his second of the night only 40 seconds into the second period, finishing off a 2-on-1 break with Iginla and careening into the boards after beating Miller.

Buffalo pulled to within one on a Cody Hodgson power play goal at 8:21 of the second. A pass from Thomas Vanek deflected off Hodgson's skate and into the Boston net. The Bruins went back up by two only about three and a half minutes later on another successful odd-man rush. This time, Brad Marchand slid a pass over to Dougie Hamilton, who beat Miller gloveside to put Boston up 3-1. Later in the period, Nikita Zadorov's first-ever NHL goal put the Sabres back within one. The rookie defenseman crashed the net and lifted a backhander past Chad Johnson, making it 3-2.

The Bruins regained their two-goal lead in the final period thanks to Torey Krug's second of the year. Moments later, John Scott was sent to the dressing room with a match penalty following an open-ice hit to the head of Loui Eriksson, a hit likely to draw attention from the league in the form of a suspension. Later, Krug added his second of the evening to put Boston ahead 5-2.

How will the Bills fare with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown?
They'll be fine. NFL running backs are interchangeable.
They're in trouble. Fred and CJ are too important.
