Game Wrap: Bills @ Saints

Drew Brees and the Saints put on a passing clinic as they cruise to a 35-17 victory over the Bills.

Buffalo struggled with turnovers throughout the first half. On the first play from scrimmage, Thad Lewis was hit hard and coughed up the football giving New Orleans excellent field goal position. As it's been all season though, Buffalo's defense responds off the turnover, forcing a missed field goal by Garrett Hartley. The Bills then generate some offense, giving Dan Carpenter a try from fifty yards out, but Carpenter can't connect, snapping a streak of 15 consecutive field goals for him. The Saints punt on the following position, and Lewis fumbles again. New Orleans doesn't let the turnover go to waste, as Drew Brees hooks up with Lance Moore for a touchdown, making the score 7-0, which would be the score heading in to the 2nd Quarter.

A second Garrett Hartley miss - this one from 38 yards, gave the football back to the Bills - they drive all the way inside the New Orleans redzone and on 3rd and 2 from the Saints' 13-yd line, Lewis finds Stevie Johnson for a touchdown, tying the score up at 7. The defense follows up with a 3 and out, and Carpenter gets back on track with a 37-yd Field Goal, and gives Buffalo their only lead of the game as it was all downhill from there. Two scores inside the final four minutes - a Kenny Stills 69-yd touchdown reception followed by one from Jimmy Graham from 13-yds out gives New Orleans a 21-10 lead going into the half, and they don't look back.

The third quarter started with a New Orleans punt, but Buffalo can't do anything with it, they go 3 and out, and gave the Saints excellent field position at their own 43-yd line. Brees finds Graham again in the endzone, and its 28-10 heading to the 4th quarter.

In the final frame, Doug Marrone uses up his first of two challenges on what was thought to be a Fred Jackson touchdown run. The play stands, but the following play Jackson runs it in for a score, making it an 11 point ball game. On the following Saints possession, Marrone uses another challenge flag on a 1-yd run by Pierre Thomas for a first down. That play also stands, and the Bills are down to one timeout. Buffalo did manage to force a punt, but Lewis turns the ball over for the 3rd time - this one an interception - and the Saints go marching to the tune of a 42 yard touchdown reception by Kenny Stills, his second of the game, and lead us to the final score, New Orleans 35, Buffalo 17.

The Bills are now 3-5, they host the 8-0 Chiefs next Sunday at 1.
