Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, October 30th 2013

A research report to be released by Business First on Friday shows non-profits are a significant part of the Western New York workforce.  The region’s 300 largest nonprofit organizations employed 56,871 individuals in full- and part-time work.  People Inc. remains the largest employer, reporting 3,136 employees.  The report is based on tax filings for nonprofit organizations in the region, all of which reported revenue of at least $1 million during the 2011 fiscal year, the most recent year for which complete data was available.

Another positive sign for the area's legal community comes from the expansion of Amherst law firm HoganWillig.  The firm recently added eight attorneys, for a total of 42.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Niagara officially opened its new office yesterday.  The facility is at 1522 Main Street in Niagara Falls.
