Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, October 31st 2013



Buffalo Place Inc. will increase its special district charge by 3 percent in hopes of balancing its $3 million 2014 operating budget.  Business First reports that charge is expected to bring in $1.3 million.  It's just the 5th increase in the past twenty-five years.

The Shoreline Apartments on Niagara Street may be in for a facelift.  Owner Norstar Development USA L.P. meets with the Buffalo Planning Board next Wednesday to propose a complete apartment makeover.  That work wouldn't begin for at least a year.

Empire Specialty Cheese Company, LLC is investing $6.37 million for an expansion into Chautauqua County.  The company has purchased the former AFA meat processing plant in Ashville.
