Bulls in search of eighth straight win

The final stretch of the season is on the horizon for the Buffalo football team.
The Bulls (7-2, 5-0 Mid-American Conference) currently boast an undefeated conference record and are riding a seven game win streak.
After a dominate 30-3 win over Ohio (record) last Tuesday, Buffalo is up against another tough opponent in Toledo (6-3, 4-1 MAC).
The Rockets sit atop the MAC West division and are coming off of a 55-16 win over Eastern Michigan (2-8, 1-5 MAC). Their only loss of the season came in a 31-24 loss to Ball State (9-1, 6-0 MAC).

Last time they met:
Last season, the Bulls pulled within five points with on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Licata to Neutz with 13:41 left in the fourth quarter.

However, Buffalo would fail to move the ball on its final three possessions of the game as Toledo would claim a 25-20 victory at UB Stadium.

Key Matchup: Terrance Owens and David Fluellen vs. the Buffalo Defense
The Bulls’ defensive has been effective this season. They have only given up 8.2 points per game in conference play and 363.9 yards per game.

Toledo sits third in the MAC in scoring offense averaging 33.2 points per game and 37 touchdowns.

Toledo running back David Fluellen is averaging 133.4 rushing yards per game in MAC play and is second to the Bulls’ Branden Oliver (185.6 per game).

Quarterback Terrance Owens is a dual threat for the Rockets. This season Owens has passed for 1,609 yards and 11 touchdowns while throwing just six interceptions.

This will be a classic offensive vs. defensive matchup.

He said it:
“We will stay humble because we know we haven’t accomplished anything yet.  We haven’t achieved the goals we set forth. And that is why this day and this game is so important for us.” – Bulls’ head coach Jeff Quinn

This is a must win for the Bulls this weekend against Toledo. If the Bulls can keep running the ball effectively and limit big plays on defense then they will claim their eighth straight victory of the season.

The defense should be able to contain Fluellen and Owens. Look for a big game from senior linebacker Khalil Mack.
