Forbes: Sabres the league's 22nd most valuable team







The Buffalo Sabres are the 22nd most valuable team according to Forbes Magazine 2013 NHL team valuations.  The Sabres value is placed at $250 million which is a 43% increase from last year.  Terry Pegula paid $165 million to buy the franchise. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs sit atop the list, valued at $1.15 billion.  The New York Rangers are second($850 million) and the Montreal Canadiens are third($775 million).  The Vancouver Canucks ($700 million) and the Chicago Blackhawks ($625 million) round out the top five.

For the first time since 1998 when Frobes began tracking NHL team values, there are three Canadian franchises in the top five.
