Bulls ready for 'Clash at the Ralph'

After winning eight of its nine games this season, the Buffalo football has found itself in a Mid-American Conference showdown against Bowling Green (8-3,6-1 MAC).

The Bulls (8-3, 6-1 MAC) are looking to advance to Detroit, Mich. to square off against No. 16 ranked Northern Illinois (11-0, 7-0 MAC) on Dec. 6.

Buffalo is coming off of a 44-7 win over Miami Ohio, while the Falcons defeated Eastern Michigan 58-7.

Key Matchup: Joe Licata vs. Bowling Green secondary

It looks like the Bulls will have their hands full with a Bowling Green rushing defense that ranks No. 1 in the conference.

Therefore, they will have to rely on the arm of sophomore quarterback Joe Licata to get the job done.

This season, the Falcons pass defense ranks first in the conference allowing 156.4 yards per game, but the Bulls have a solid receiving core in seniors Alex Neutz and Fred Lee.

Look for both Neutz and Lee to find their way through the Bowling Green secondary.

He said it:
“Certainly our intention is getting ready for Friday’s contest. By far it is the most exciting time around here. I know how important it’s been for this senior class to work their way into this position. It’s an extremely meaningful game. One that I know these guys are excited about playing. … I know it’s the last chance for our fans to see this senior class.” – Bulls’ head coach Jeff Quinn on the upcoming game against Bowling Green

The Bulls have not been this close to a MAC East title or a MAC championship bid since the 2008 season.
However, it could be a difficult afternoon for the Buffalo defense against a difficult conference opponent in Bowling Green.

The Bulls struggled in the first half this season against Toledo giving up 51 points two weeks ago against one of the conference’s most potent offensive attacks.

Although Buffalo has one of the best defensive players in college football in Khalil Mack, it will take a full team effort to pull off the victory.

Look for Bowling Green to hand the Bulls a loss at ‘The Ralph’ on Friday afternoon.
