Buffalo took that lead into the intermission but as the second period started, Boston had a quick answer. As the Sabres were playing with the man advantage they got caught giving up a 2 on 1 and Brad Marchand roofed one over the shoulder of Ryan Miller.
It did not take boston long to jump ahead 2-1 as just 1:14 later Brad Marchand put home his 2nd of the night on a beautiful snipe that found it's way into the top corner of the net. The teams traded chances for a while until a Jamie McBain shot deflected off of Marcus Foligno late in the 2nd and found its way into the cage.
The third period started much like the first, a lot of neutral zone play and not many chances for either team. Drew Stafford changed that with just under 6 minutes left as he skated completely around the net and found a crease between the skate of Chad Johnson and the pipe on a wraparound to give Buffalo the 3-2 lead.
The Sabres then took a page out of Boston's book from the second period and scored just 1:20 later, this time it was set up on a 2 on 1 where Brian Flynn found a trailing Tyler Myers who fired in his third tally of the season. The Bruins pulled their goalie with about two minutes remaining but the Sabres dug their heels in and the result was their second straight 4-2 victory.
