Sabres Take a Loss in Debut of 3rd Jersey

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN/AP) -- Buffalo Sabres fans watched their team wearing the new third jersey design for the first time.  But the first time wasn't a charm as the Sabres fell to the Detroit Red Wings 3-1.  The new jersey is bright yellow and a standout difference from their more traditional look.

Jonas Gustavsson made 21 saves and the Red Wings sent the Sabres to their fourth straight loss, 3-1 on Sunday.

Johan Franzen, Daniel Alfredsson and Darren Helm scored for the Red Wings. Henrik Zetterberg had an assist for his 700th career point.

Cody Hodgson scored Buffalo's only goal. The Sabres are winless since a victory in interim head coach Ted Nolan's first game on Nov. 15.
