Jacobs Makes Donation to One Fund Boston

Boston, MA (WBEN) Jeremy Jacobs, owner of Buffalo-based Delaware North, is making a donation along with several other organizations to the charity helping those most affected by the Boston Marathon explosion.

Jacobs has pledged to donate $100,000 on behalf of the entire Bruins organization and Bruins players to the recently established The One Fund Boston, whose purpose is to raise money to help those families most affected by the events at the Boston Marathon. The TD Garden, NHL and NHLPA will also be making a donation in the amount of $50,000 each to show their support, making the combined total of all parties $250,000.

“Our family has been touched by the heroic moments of so many individuals and the strength and resiliency of this community to stand together in solidarity in support of those who were injured and those who lost their lives in this unimaginable tragedy,” says Jacobs. “On behalf of our entire family, we pledge our unwavering support to this community as the process of healing begins.”

In addition, the Sabres and Bruins will wear special "Boston Strong" decals on helmets during tonight's game.
