Bills DC Pettine to interview with Browns

(WGR 550) -- The hope that the Buffalo Bills could keep defensive coordinator Mike Pettine under the radar from other teams won't be coming true. According to a league source, Pettine is scheduled to interview with the Cleveland Browns about their head coaching vacancy.

Pettine came to the Bills last off-season as part of head coach Doug Marrone's new staff. Formerly the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets, Pettine came to Buffalo and helped the defense set the franchise record for sacks in one season in a much improved unit.

The Browns and owner Jimmy Haslam sent an email to season ticket holders preaching patience so they can interview every potential candidate. One of those candidates are thought to be Denver offensive coordinator Adam Gase, who figures to be a key candidate in Cleveland's search for a head coach.

The original report came from Jay Glazer of FOXSports.

Keep checking back for more details as they become available.
