Buffalo Business Report - Monday, February 10th 2014



According to the AAA, the current cost for a gallon of unleaded gas averages $3.63 in this region.  That's thirty-four cents higher than the national average of $3.29 for the same gallon.

A Buffalo public hearing will be among six hosted throughout the state next month to share plans for improving passenger and freight rail service on the Empire Corridor.  Business First reports the local meeting will March 6th from 4-8pm at the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum, at 263 Michigan Avenue.

According to data compiled by Jeffrey Freedman Attorneys, consumer bankruptcy filings are declining.  Filings for January 2014 declined 10%.

Online employment service company MatchMyWork.com recently launched in this area.  The fee-based service is live and accepts both job seeker profiles and employment postings.

National Fuel Gas Company reported profits of 97 cents per share for its first quarter.  That's sixteen cents more per share than the same period a year ago.
