Cuomo names 'stadium working group'

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has appointed five people to a "New Stadium Working Group."

The committee is intended to explore options for a potential new stadium in Buffalo. Members include Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Lt. Gov Robert Duffy, Buffalo/Niagara Partnership CEO, Dottie Gallagher-Cohen, Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster and Empire State Development President Kenneth Adams. The state could appoint up to seven members.

The Bills signed a new lease in Dec. 2012 which included a clause in the first seven years to penalize a potential new owner $400 million if they elected to move the team. After the seventh year, it would only cost $28 million.

The Bills have released a full statement on the group, read up on it here:

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has expressed interest in a new stadium.  He'll join Bulldog and Sal Capaccio at 5PM on WGR.
