Buffalo Business Report - Thursday, February 13th 2014

The proposed $45 million stock purchase of Time Warner by Comcast would create a cable giant that would control roughly 33 million cable subscribers in the U.S., or 33% of the countries cable viewers.  According to the most recent Business First Book of Lists, Time Warner ranks 31st among WNY companies listed by full-time employees, with 16-hundred.

The Buffalo Urban Renewal Agency considers a $1.4 million offer from Sinatra & Co. Realty to acquire the Market Arcade today.  That approval is expected, with
the deal likely to close this spring.  If that is the case, Sinatra & Co. will relocate its offices to the Market Arcade’s fourth floor by early fall.

Clarence-based 22nd Century Group Inc. has submitted documents to the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ as a precursor to an uplisting application.

Williamsville-based EnergyMark has been authorized by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to engage in wholesale sales of electric power, with power utility status.
