Mikhail Grigorenko is doing exactly what he needs to do since his return to the junior hockey ranks. Since the Sabres sent Grigorenko back to the Quebec Remparts last month, the 19 year old has recorded five goals and 12 points in 10 games and is a plus one.
Grigorenko is playing on the top line and is being used in all situations, including power plays and penalty killing.
Grigorenko wasn't happy when Sabres management told him he'd be going back to juniors but there hasn't been any pouting by the 19 year old.
His coach in Quebec is former Buffalo Sabre Philippe Boucher and he says Grigorenko hasn't been hanging his head at all.
"He wants to get better, he wants to learn" Boucher told WGR on Thursday. "He took a day or two to consider his future and some people took it the wrong way. That was normal. He has come here with a great attitude."
You can listen to the entire interview with Boucher who talked about what Grigorenko can accomplish while back in juniors and what Pat LaFontaine told him when the Sabres said Grigorenko was being returned to the Remparts.
See is wasn't that hard. He improving his game, you made new freinds who was in his shoes when he was they age. I mean i hope the people think we hate them. because we don't because of hockey hate words. Its like we were telling Grigorenko on these artcles. man go and play in canada you going to love it. You will be learning and teaching. People always would say; how i figure that. Wel the man has got a taste of how it is to play in the pros. Most of them have not. But with sabres at the bottom of the league dosen't give him the winning edge. The teaching part comes in when he show them things he do in his game. and they use it in their game. And he will be learning their skills in his. Its a win, win. For evrybody. LET GO US AND LETS GO CANADA.
have schools where you're from?
Well, that's fantastic to hear...
As long as he stays in Juniors he should be fine! Please WGR, check up on him every few years to let us know how he's doing.
Omark needs to....
Omark should take a lesson from Grigorenko. That positive attitude can go a long way with fellow teammates, management and fans. This shows that he may only be nineteen but is maturing quickly. He obviously made the right choice and will soon be back in the Blue and Gold!
re: to do they
Yes they do have schools where i'm from. See hear is your problem you spoil the mess out of them when they are kids. thats because you may be well off. But tell them to do something without having to repeat yourself. And what do you get nothing. The way we were rasie up is you are going to go to school and listen and do your work. You are going to come home and do your chores without any feed back to your elders. You want to play sports than you are going to listen to your coaches and teachers and still come home and do your chores. You will not come home and start playing your xbox, on the phone talking about nothing. You can't follow those rules. Than its time for you to get out and pay your own bills. And see how long you can make it. Instead of i don't have to worrie about that because my mommie and daddie are going to take care of me for the rest of my life. And if i got a girl freind, and we have a baby together. Mommie and daddie is going to take care that too. For people who think this way. You better pray every day that nothing ever happen to them. Because when you hit real world and you don't know even how to wash your own cloths out or cook for yourself. in our world you wouldn't make it a day For lol.
He will be great
This kid is going to be fine.. If he was never brought up in the first place fans would be dying for him to come up here and help out the offense. Once he figures it out and grows into his body hes going to be great for us. I'm glad the new regime is giving him the time he needs to develop. GO SABRES!
He has recorded five goals and 12 points in 10 games and is a plus one. Something wrong here - only PLUS ONE??
12 points in 10 games in the Quebec League ....
is incredibly average considering a Crosby and other guys that didn't make it in the NHL averaged 2.5 points per game in the Quebec league. You Sabres fans do understand that the Quebec league is the weakest in Canadian Jr hockey don't you?
RE: thats great news.
One of the greatest posts I have ever read. Thank you for your comment, I now feel dumber.
DONT BE FOOLED
Hes Alexander Semin Jr.
They need to put Grigs with someone other than Scott and Ellis in the nhl. Put Grig with a scorer and you'll get production.
All Grigorenko doubters
Check the updated stats. 13 GP, 10 G, 11 A for 21 P. I wouldn't exactly call those numbers pedestrian.
