(WGR) After sitting for the first two games Ryan Miller will get his first start for Team USA. Miller has been named the starting goaltender for USA verses Slovenia which will air on WGR at 7:15AM this morning (Sunday Feb.16).
Miller has been the back-up to Jonathan Quick (LA Kings) in the first two games of the 2014 Olympics.
Quick made 29 saves and stopped five shots in a 3-2 shootout victory over Russia Saturday and was also the starter in Team USA's opening game of the Sochi Games - a 7-1 win over Slovakia.
It was also announced prior that Slovenia's Sabahudin Kovacevic had been handed a one-game suspension following a review by the International Ice Hockey Federation's (IIHF) disciplinary panel. He was suspended for an elbow to the head and neck area of Slovakia forward Tomas Kopecky during the second period of the Saturday's game between Slovenia and Slovakia.
