Bills release Kevin Kolb

(WGR 550) -- The Buffalo Bills have moved on from the man who has the most experience of their quarterback group.

The Bills announced on Tuesday that they have released quarterback Kevin Kolb from the roster. He was a member of the team for only one season and landed on the Injured Reserve after a concussion suffered in the pre-season.

Considering his injury history and a $1 million roster bonus due on Thursday, the Bills had to decide on Kolb's future rather quickly. Kolb, 29, was released by the team due to a failed physical according to GM Doug Whaley.

He has made 29 starts throughout his seven-year career spent with the Eagles, Cardinals and Bills. Kolb's release leaves EJ Manuel, Thad Lewis, Jeff Tuel and Dennis Dixon as the quarterbacks on Buffalo's roster.

What do you think about the Bills acquisition of Matt Cassel?
I like it. They can win with Cassel, a strong run game and great defense.
I don't like it. He's done nothing since his big year in 2010.
The Bills should still bring in another QB to compete.
