The AAA reports it's still an average of $3.74 for a gallon of unleaded gas in the region.  At $3.54 per gallon, the national average is twenty cents lower.

Empire State Development is providing a $1 million capital grant to assist expansion at Praxair.  Praxair will use the money to build a steam methane reformer to increase the supply of hydrogen for its liquid hydrogen plant in Niagara Falls.

The New York Power Authority Board of Trustees has approved an allocation of low-cost hydropower to Trinity Packaging Corp. of Cheektowaga.  That will open the door to a planned $6.5 million expansion of its manufacturing plant and create 21 new jobs.

I-Con Windows, a custom millwork maker of bespoke windows and doors based in Ireland, has retained J. Fitzgerald Group of Lockport for branding, marketing, communications and web strategy.

What do you think about the Bills acquisition of Matt Cassel?
  I like it. They can win with Cassel, a strong run game and great defense.
  I don't like it. He's done nothing since his big year in 2010.
  The Bills should still bring in another QB to compete.
