WR Latimer, TE Niklas visit with Bills

(WGR 550) -- With the start of April, draft visit season is officially upon us. And on the first day of the month, the Buffalo Bills played host to the first two college prospects available in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The team announced that Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer and Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas are making their official pre-draft visits at One Bills Drive today. Both players are projected to be selected at some point on the second day (Rounds 2-3).

Latimer declared for the draft following a junior season that yielded 72 receptions for 1,096 yards and nine touchdowns. At the 2014 NFL Combine, Latimer checked in at 6-foot-2 and 215 pounds. He opened some eyes at Indiana’s pro day after he ran the 40-yard dash in the range of 4.4 seconds according to multiple reports.

Niklas is also an early entrant into the draft, declaring for the NFL after his junior season. In 2013 he caught 32 passes for 498 yards and five touchdowns. It was his first season as the starting tight end after backing up a first-round pick last year, Tyler Eifert, during the 2012 campaign. Niklas has impressive size at 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds, and played linebacker for the Fighting Irish in 2011. He’s the nephew of Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews.

Every team in the NFL is allotted 30 pre-draft visit from non-local schools.
