Buffalo Business Report - Thursday, April 3rd 2014

$31.6 million is the total of the quarterly casino exclusivity payment to New York State from the Seneca Nation of Indians.  Those funds will be dispersed to the host cities of Seneca-operated casinos, namely Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Salamanca.
Since the December 2002 opening of the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel, the Seneca Nation has made more than $1.1 billion in exclusivity payments.

A new survey by the Hospital Association of New York State indicates a growing need for physicians statewide.  According to Business First, the upstate need is the greatest; WNY lost 544 physicians and gained just 421.  Locally, 13 hospitals reported a need for 21 primary care physicians; with 46 percent reporting difficulty finding them.

Five months into its fiscal year, the U.S. Small Business Administration Buffalo district has approved 40 percent more loans through its 504 program than it did a year ago at the same time.
