Buffalo Business Report - Friday, May 2nd 2014

McGuire Development Group set today as the deadline for bids on the proposed IBM site.  State ownership, through Fort Schuyler Management Corp., is considered essential to the project.  Business First reports Buffalo's central business district is the desired option, but also under consideration are sites in the Larkin District, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Waterfront Village or near UB's South Campus.  Room is also needed for the potential of another 100,000-square-feet of expansion space.  A site should be selected by late spring or early summer.

Canisius College has offered retirement buyouts to faculty in its College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education.  The proposal originated with the Faculty Welfare Committee.  The move could affect as many as 45 professors, although significantly fewer are expected to take the offered buyout.

Interactive Health has recognized Univera Healthcare as one of the “Healthiest Companies in America.”  It's the third time Univera has been so recognized.
