Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, May 7th 2014



New York State and the City of Buffalo have finalized a purchase agreement regarding a high-tech manufacturing innovation hub at Riverbend.  Two California-based energy companies will invest $1.5 billion in projects.  That will create 850 permanent jobs and at least 500 temporary construction jobs.

Next Tuesday, the 102-room Courtyard by Marriott will welcome its first guest.  The former Donovan Office Building is occupied by the Marriott on its bottom four floors, with law firm  Phillips Lytle LLP already occupying the four upper floors of the site.

Shortly after signing on with the baseball Bisons, La Nova Pizzeria has extended its marketing deal with the Buffalo Bills.  No financial terms were released.

Catholic Charities of Buffalo has received a $211,000 grant from Fidelis Care to support its In-School Social Work program serving students, families and faculty at several Catholic grade schools.
