The State Senate made its move earlier this month, with Legislator Michael Ranzenhoffer asking that yogurt be made the official snack of New York. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agriculture Statistics Service has seconded that notion. For the second year in a row, New York is the nation's yogurt capital. Production in 2013 was up 46 million pounds from the previous year, at 741 million pounds.
According to Perishablenews-dot-com, Rich Products will unveil a new line of desserts at a June expo in Colorado. Among the offerings: a Mini Chocolate Brownie Extreme, a Mini Caramel Sea Salt Blondie Extreme, a Mini Boston Crème, and Red Velvet, Triple Chocolate and Carrott flavored bar cakes.
