Business First says downtown developer David Sweet has filed layoff notices with NY State, cutting loose the staff at five buildings he owns downtown. They say Sweet has deals pending for the Rand Building , the Main Court Building, Main Seneca Building, Roblin Building and Stanton Building

The number of casino proposals under consideration in New York State now stands at 19. A development team is ending its bid to build a casino near Albany to focus on an alternative casino proposal in Orange County. Cordish Companies and Penn National Gaming announced Wednesday that they will request a refund of the $1 million application fee paid to state regulators for the Rensselaer County proposal.  Up to four casinos are authorized for three regions: the Albany-Saratoga area, the Southern Tier-Finger Lakes region and the Catskills and mid-Hudson River Valley. Applicants have until June 30 to submit final proposals.
