What a Joke! Nothing further to say.

This doode Murray...
is gonna mind funk this team back to relevance with those stats there. Eventually.

Huggggggh?
This guy is starting to sound like Regeir more and more each day and this analytics cr*p is a Joke.

OMG, please get Paul Hamilton off this station...PLEASE!
They don't come more clueless than this clod. He has been wrong so many times that it is just sad to read his commentaries. He is starting (and this is a MAJOR accomplishment in and of itself) to make Kevin Sylvester and Andrew Peters sound almost listenable (almost, because those two are absolute insults to the intelligence of even the densest human beings on the planet). The fact that that slob actually asked about Luke Adam is simply hilarious... 'Tim, do you think Luke Adam has a chance to make the Sabres this year?' 'Well, Paul I'll say it this way: he is pretty dang awful and shows no ability beyond looking just plain awful' 'So, Tim, do you think he has a shot...how about Grigorenko or Rhuwedal?' 'Paul you really are that dumb aren't you?'

Will he be as good as Darcy?
I don't know, that remains to be seen. But he seems to be starting off on the right foot. This draft will tell us if we took a step up or down when he came on board.

Yes of course, Analytics...
We know how badly Matthew needs his stats, younger generations now unable to tear themselves away from their laptops and precious phones, mere on-ice or on-field sports not being quite enough... And that other guy at 'GR, well, the Beatles had the Mahareshi and Schopp has Aaron Schatz.

Hoping
Whatever Murray does, I hope he don't sign Ennis, Ruhwedel, and Adam. Get that smurf, pylon, and turtle outta here.

The really funny thing...
Analytics are for people who don't seem to know what they're looking at -- who needed stats in 2014 to tell that "possession" is a key thing in games. In hockey for instance, as a kid I saw Bobby Orr (you might have heard of him) possess the puck like crazy; that Montreal dynasty of the 70s sure knew how to possess, as did the Islanders and Oilers, Gretzky oh yeah. Better players, better teams, just naturally possess more. Get it? I know most fans do, but those tiresome geeks... I'm still waiting for them to confirm, after intense "analysis" of the stats, that Secretariat was indeed the best horse in the Belmont of 1973, which he won by 31 lengths, record smashed and still untouched. They seem to have the time for it.

Stats stats stats
Out of context, statistics can be really misleading. In the Cup finals, anyone who watched game three would know it was the most one-sided, the Kings controlling almost from the start and shutting down the Rangers 3-0 -- yet L.A. was outshot by a two-one margin. So those shot totals don't tell the story of that game at all. (And how about this past Super Bowl: Peyton Manning late in the 4th, "garbage time" with his team blown out early and the Seahawks playing back, sets a record for consecutive pass completions, in reality utterly meaningless but the raw stats are sure to impress the geeks.) And there is nothing more bogus than league-wide stats for individual players -- don't you think a winger's numbers are a lot better playing alongside Toews and Kane with Duncan Keith backing it up than say playing alongside all those stiffs on the Sabres or Leafs? That's what analytics largely is: statistics out of context. How does that add to your understanding and enjoyment of the sport.

Watching the Kings, the Hawks, the West:
Sure, I want the Sabres to have good skilled forwards -- but BIG forwards, BIG centers and BIG wingers who won't be denied the puck in the corners and along the boards, BIG S.O.B.'s who cycle and keep cycling and can't be stopped from cycling, I mean BIG, BIG, BIG...

IF HE DOES TRADE DOWN IT WILL BE OBVIOUS THAT WE WILL TANK NEXT SEASON TO TRY TO GET THE FIRST OVERALL PICK.WITH OUR LUCK WE WILL LOSE AGAIN IN THE LOTTERY AND BE A LAUGHING STOCK!!!PS WE ALREADY ARE AROUND THE NHL!!PPS BUT WE GOT A NICE LOCKER ROOM!!

agreed with big
we need big, but not big like we have had. john scott big can't skate, hasn't won a fight, cant possess a puck, foligno can skate and only physical once in a while, Meyers... soft. so we need BIG yes, we need MEAN, we need BIG mean skating forwards that can possess, control, the puck with some skills... the west coast teams have all of them I think. sj, kings, ducks, heck even Calgary has a few. western conf. hockey is just bigger faster more skilled, meaner type of hockey. sabres are just soft... everywhere soft.
