Buffalo Business Report - Friday, June 13th 2014

The National Credit Union Administration reports that total assets held by credit unions rose 4 percent - or up to $1.1 trillion - by the end of March.   This comes as the number of credit unions has fallen by 3.9% from year-to-year through consolidation, leaving a total of 6,491 federally insured U.S. credit unions.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute was chosen by the National Cancer Institute to serve as a Lead Academic Participating Site.  Roswell received a 5-year $3.08 million grant to provide scientific leadership for the development and conduct of clinical trials within the NCI’s new National Clinical Trials Network.  

The Western New York Regional Economic Development Council and DePaul Properties celebrated the opening of Buffalo's Riverside Apartments.  The 68-unit affordable housing development created more than 350 local construction jobs and 40 new, permanent jobs.

Allegiant has been named the Top-Performing Airline in North America by AVIATION WEEK for the third consecutive year.
