Buffalo Business Report - Tuesday, July 1st 2014

It's promising to be a week of milestones for Canalside.  As it prepares to host its third World Cup Soccer viewing party, Canalside should be finishing the installation of one of three planned pedestrian bridges spanning replica Erie Canal waterways this week.  Canal construction itself should be completed by
this fall. That's timed to coincide with the opening of the Buffalo Sabres’ HarborCenter building.

A big changeover in the local advertising field.  The Martin Group has acquired Travers Collins.  No terms of that deal were made public.  The Martin Group will take on some Travers Collins staffers as it evaluates its needs.

Business First reports that downtown Buffalo landlords and developers have started courting the Nixon Peabody LLP law firm.  Nixon Peabody has begun looking for new offices within the central business district, but has not ruled out remaining in Key Center.

Unicell Body Co. Inc., a manufacturer of one-piece fiberglass truck bodies, will be making them for Ford Motor Co.’s line of 2015 Transit vans.  Unicell has been in Buffalo 35 years. It has been working with Ford for more than 32.
