The AAA reports the average gallon of unleaded gas in the area costs $3.86.  That's up two cents from a week ago.

2.2 million taps produced 546,000 gallons of maple syrup in New York this year.  That allowed the state to stay at #2 for maple syrup production in the country.  Despite a slow start to the season, this turned out to be the third best year for maple production in the past 20 years.

The NFTA has approved the purchase of 20 compressed natural-gas-powered transit buses for $11.3 million.

The Department of Pediatric Dermatology at Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo recently expanded its list of available services to include Phototherapy.  The treatment is used to treat a variety of skin disorders.

KegWorks has launched a new homebrew ingredient product line.  It includes a wide range of hops, yeasts, malts, and brewing additives and adjuncts.

What do you think about the Bills acquisition of Matt Cassel?
  I like it. They can win with Cassel, a strong run game and great defense.
  I don't like it. He's done nothing since his big year in 2010.
  The Bills should still bring in another QB to compete.
