Sabres acquire Gorges

The Buffalo Sabres have made their first deal in NHL Free Agency, as they've acquired Defenseman Josh Gorges from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a second-round pick in 2016.

The 10-year veteran has spent his past eight seasons with Montreal. He notched 14 points in 66 games last season.

Gorges has 4 years left on his contract, worth $3.9 million per season.

The second-round pick heading to Montreal was originally acquired from the Minnesota Wild.

Is Doug Marrone's status as Bills Head Coach in 2015 still up in the air?
Yes. It depends on the last 2 games.
