Buffalo Business Report - Monday, July 7th 2014

The AAA reports that the region's average cost for a gallon of unleaded has remained unchanged for the past week, at $3.85 per gallon.  Local gas prices are fourteen cents higher now than they were this time last year.

BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and Western New York Immediate Care have signed an agreement.  WNY Immediate Care has agreed to Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY’s established community rates for urgent care providers in the region, effective July 1st of this year.

The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, two side-by-side family owned businesses, will be leaving the Horsefeathers Building on Connecticut Street.  They will open shop at 1547 Hertel Avenue sometime in August.

Picone Construction Corp. has begun construction on the Village of East Aurora’s new Central Fire Station.  Completion is expected in July 2015.

The D’Youville College School of Pharmacy has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.  The accreditation term extends until June 30, 2016.
