Buffalo-based Delaware North is pouring out a new stadium offering - self-serve beer. The machines will be in place for next Tuesday's Major League All-Star game in Minnesota. Beer drinkers show ID at a cash register to buy a prepaid card. Those cards are scanned before pouring. A worker at each machine will card drinkers who appear to be under 30 and cut off inebriated fans, and the machines will stop pouring at the end of the seventh inning.
Delaware North also in the news for halting purchases from Linda Bean’s Maine Lobster, a well-known processor. PETA accused the company of inhumane treatment at its Rockland facility and released a secret video tape as proof.
Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital will begin construction later this summer on its latest expansion, including its new 10-bed NICU, or neonatal intensive care unit. The $13.6 million project is considered the third phase in the expansion of the hospital.
