Deal Leads to Name Change

Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, August 6th 2014

Buffalo-based Better Wire Products has acquired Tooling Enterprises of Buffalo.  The deal increases stamping capabilities from 150 to 400 ton maximum press size.  The company will also be known as Better Wire and Press.  Financial terms were not announced.  

EnergyMark of Williamsville has been awarded a 1-year contract for over $4 million.  The deal with the School and Municipal Energy Cooperative will supply gas to 43 school districts, villages and towns.

Tonawanda-based Energy Services Company SmartEdge has been awarded a contract for the energy management and control system upgrade at the Grand Island Central School District.

Second quarter sales were up 5% for Gibraltar Industries Inc., but adjusted net income was off 25.6% for the period.  Adjusted net income was 19 cents per share, compared with 26 cents per share in 2013.
