Starting Monday, E-Z Pass will be accepted at the Rainbow, Whirlpool and Lewiston-Queenston bridges.  Last month, Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs noted that E-Z Pass tags can be obtained for $25 at all of its auto bureau offices.

The Fort Erie Times reports a sale of Ft. Erie Racetrack remains imminent.  A Buffalo-based buyer has emerged as the new owner.  Of specific interest to the potential buyer is the 130 acres of land adjacent to the track that could be developed.

Tim Hortons is more than coffee and doughnuts.  The restaurant chain reported a 5.9% U.S. increase in sales for the current quarter, driven by iced and frozen beverages sales.  Profits per share came in at 92 cents per share, up from 81 cents a year ago.

Bower Insurance Agency Inc., an independent insurance agency based in Lockport has been acquired by industry consolidator Confie Seguros.  Bower is the eighth company in Western New York to be purchased by the fast-growing California-based insurance broker.
