Report: Bon Jovi a 'finalist' for Bills

After weeks of speculation, Jon Bon Jovi and the Toronto based group lead by Larry Tanenbaum have been informed they will indeed be a finalist in the sale of the Buffalo Bills.

Morgan Stanley, the investment bank conducting the sale of the Bills, denied the group their first bid after an "uncompetitively low" bid and doubt about the groups intentions of keeping the Bills in Buffalo.
Bon Jovi and the Toronto group are expected to meet with Bills officials today in Manhattan.

it'd be a good way
to twist local arms abot a new stadium. "Ooh- we sold it to the Toronto guys, better get that new deal done!"

Saying and Doing Are Two Different Things
Bon Jovi and Larry might be saying they are going to keep the Bills in Buffalo, but when it comes to making money and the Bills do not - they will move them elsewhere. I don't care what any contract reads: They will get them a lawyer that will find a "small loophole" in the contract in order to move them out of Buffalo. So if the sellers of the Bills have any sense - they will not sell to "Bon Jovi" or it is going to be "Bon Voyage" for the Bills.

Pointless article...
Everyone knows the Bon Jovi group is one of the main bidders and has been since the beginning. This is just a poor re-hash of the same story we've already heard 5000 times. However WGR, just like the BN, has to continue to inject fear into the fan base on a regular basis with redundant articles - many based on nothing more than speculation. Hey, whatever keeps people tuning in and reading right?

They (the Bon Jovi group) can't officially be finalist until after this meeting. So I read that report with skepticism, especially after so many of these so-called reports have turned out to be untrue

I said it before put it in writing.
That the only way we the bill fans are going to beleive jovi. And if him and his partners can't do that. Than hell no and please not don't give our team to them. And this is a answer to his letter; you want the bills than put it in writing thatyou are going to keep the bills here in buffalo period. Jovi you got the next move lets see if you can be a man of your word.

Can't wait to go to that girl talk show

Won't know for sure until October at the earliest
It is not mentioned that Bon Jovi and company are the front runners. This only says that they are finalists. Pegula, Trump and who knows who else could be finalists as well. Everything that has been reported to this point has been mostly half truths or completely false. i.e. Pegula bid $1.3 billion when the reality is that his bid was no where even close to that and no bid submitted so far has been anything close to that. I will say this. If the team is sold to an ownership who moves it...then like a lot matters in WNY that have a sad ending a large part of the blame must go to the politicians and business leaders that failed to some degreee. We are putting our trust in people that historically in the end have let us down for decades.

What a crock. The NFL and the owners have more to do about this sale than the Bills.
08/12/2014 10:49AM
If Pegula is willing...
Why would the Wilsons take a chance selling to these jokers? You know Pegula would keep them in Buffalo regardless, is willing to overbid (because he can...), and not one of the guys in that buyers group has any ties or loyalty to Buffalo. SMH.

Another group
was added to the list this morning. A consortium headed by John Cougar Mellenkamp, fronting for Monsanto, General Motors, and Dow Chemical stated that they plan to move the franchise to Mexico City...

He's quite the "entertainer" eh? Imagine how hard the NFL is "LAFFING" at his joke of a bid????!!! TORONTO NEVER GETS IN THE NFL, NEVER NEVER NEVER!
08/12/2014 11:52AM
good bye bills
well it has been a blast and a burden to be a bills fans. with bon jovi taking over atleast Toronto now can have a team that can't win

Unfortunately, this is a business. And as business growth dictates, this team is destined to go to a larger market (where the NFL really wants them). So, this whole process is somewhat "fixed" towards the long-term view of the NFL. The Wilson's stand to profit no matter whose name is on the check.

get it over with already
Cant we just sell the Bills to Terry Pegula and get it over with already? This is way to drawn out and totally annoying....
08/12/2014 2:05PM
Hey, it doesnt matter who owns the team as long as they keep the Bills in Buffalo, and do their best to build a winner. Bring in a new front office and head coach. Wilson was no great shakes as an owner. He really made some bad moves that kept the Bills in last place. Jon Bovi as an owner, I dunno, he's probably as bad at that as he is at making "music". And if he's serious about keeping the Bills in Western NY then why was he looking at stadium sites in Toronto?
08/12/2014 3:48PM
Toronto would need a new stadium as well before the NFL would ever consider a team there. In Canada you do not get huge government subsidies for professional sporting venues. So why all the fear about Toronto?
