(WGR 550) -- The Buffalo Bills missed out on Fred Taylor, but that doesn't mean they've given up on the last name.
The Miami Herald is reporting that the Bills' attempts to bolster their defense continue with pursuit of former Dolphin and Redskin defensive end Jason Taylor. The report said five teams are interested, including the Bills and Jets, but that the Patriots and Dolphins are considered front-runners.
Taylor will be 35 come opening day, and has 120.5 sacks in 185 career games, managing only 3.5 in 2008. The Pittsburgh native and Akron product has 76 tackles and 17.5 sacks in 20 games against Buffalo, forcing six fumbles and defending nine passes in those contests.
A signing of Taylor could alter the Bills plans for the No. 11 pick, widely considered to be a pass rusher.
