Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- Seattle had put the franchise tag on LB Leroy Hill which meant he was guaranteed 8.3-million dollars for one season. The Seahawks drafted Aaron Curry with the fourth overall pick and then lifted the franchise tag because Hill hadn't signed his tender offer. That means Hill is a free agent.
The Bills draft still left Keith Ellison starting at linebacker. They did draft safety Nic Harris in the 5th round with the idea of moving him to linebacker to compete against Harris, but what about Hill? He had 81 tackles last year in 12 games. His agent, Todd France told the AP that a long term contract for Hill in Seattle still remains a possibility. I did ask Bills C.O.O. and GM Russ Brandon about it Sunday. He is definitely interested. He said it is something the team would like to explore. I want to STRESS he said explore. He did not say they're bringing him in and he did not say the Bills were making him an offer. The Bills have room under the cap and it would certainly shore up a position of need for awhile as Hill will be just turning 27 when the season starts.
