Some collectors enjoy attempting to collect every edition of a short-printed card. Hard to do though. Take a card numbered to 5. You have to find each copy -- who knows if each has even been opened? -- then hope to pry them all away from collectors. Good luck.
Never expecting to come close to the whole allotment, I thought it might be fun to pick a card from the 2006 Topps Sterling base sets (one of my favorites) and see how many I can pick up through the years. Short-printed cards of baseball legends made from black leather with holographic images. I chose this Reggie Jackson card, card #103. The card is numbered to 250, and this is one of 36 that I possess. Plus I've sold two, one as a part of a complete base set and another in a lot of Jackson cards. Wish I hadn't sold that second one.
