With the news that the Bills will be unveiling an all-white throwback uniform on July 30, Sportstalk Saturday became a show about the best uniforms in pro football, and how the Bills would be among the best if they committed to the old gear. After discussion between Nick Mendola, Dan Cave, Brian Koziol, callers, emailers and even texts from Paul Hamilton, here is our football uniform rankings.

These are based on primary road/home combinations.

Bills road unis the worst
No doubt that the road uniforms for the Buffalo Bills are the absolute worst in the entire NFL. I have seen unis in the Arena Football League that are better.

I like it
Strong classics at top. Teams not messing with a good thing. All the teams with new designs (which are all trying WAY too hard to be "tough") at the bottom.

Totally agree with this
If the 49ers use the 80's Montana style jersey's all the time, they could probly be #1 overall. But I agree with all the classics here. Browns home jersey is probably the best football jersey overall, I love the simple brown/white stripes and numbering. My graphic designer friends tell me vibrant, colorful, and eye-catching advertising, like the 60's, is making a huge comeback. Lets hope the over marked-researched, slick, silver/navy/red/black era of sports logos/uniforms is finally dead. Thanks, 90's.

Buffalo Bill
The Buffalo Bills uniform pays no hommage to what/who the team is named for, Buffalo Bill Cody. I wish the uniforms had more of a western/cowboy allure to them. I don't know how this would be done in keeping with any type of tradition, but since most people don't even know what the heck a Buffalo "Bill" is, the uni's should be more expressive to the teams name. The throw-back helmet buffalo did a better job of this. Plus the cock-roach-like jumping mini-legged bison thing is kinda weak. AND every city of buffalo team emblem features the bison, often in a non-intimidating fashion (see the sabres slug, but I don't even want to get started on that).

Top 3 Really, have you scene there 3rd jersey
Really wow, could you have picked anymore boring jerseys then the Bears, Browns, or Steelers. Look at the Bears and Browns Third Jerseys, they are orange!. Pittsburgh is too cheap to get a second logo on there helmet. Plus they wear Mustard pants on their jerseys. The Browns have the most boring helmet in football.

I agree with most of this list, though i think the chargers should probably be a category up, and the browns a category down... except for one thing... the broncos at #29?? seriously? theyre at least a top 10 jersey and their logo is among the best in the league. definitely disagree on that one.

blue-on-blue = ugly
What they really need to do is stop with the blue-on-blue combo they wear all the time. The monochrome fad was short-lived & several years ago. It's time to contemporize, man. But perhaps they are just mimicking their fans, who still wear Zubaz pantsfrom 1990.
