(WGR 550) -- The third time is widely-considered to be the charm, and those who have participated in the first two editions of the WGR Celebrity Golf Tournament have to wonder how much better it can get.
Bidding for your celebrity foursome in 2009 tourney, presented by Paul William Beltz, PC, begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the WGR staff on the clock first. Take your shot at: Howard Simon, Jeremy White, Jerry Sullivan, Mike Schopp, The Bulldog, Brian Koziol, Nick Mendola, Dan Hager, Greg Bauch or WGR boss Andy Roth.
Already-announced, and going up for bid in the future, are: Buffalo Sabres' Derek Roy, Chris Butler, Adam Mair, Pat Kaleta nd Tim Kennedy; local Stanley Cup champion Kevyn Adams, and Pro Football Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas. The names we haven't announced get even better.
Yet it's not just about shooting 18 with friends at Westwood Country Club in Amherst. It's registration with Tommy Bahama bloody mary's and mimosas, as well as

A portion of the proceeds goes to the Thurman Thomas Scholarship Fund to give underpriveleged kids the chance to train like a pro.
