is this bastard kidding me? this child gets his wish and then nixes it? how can this smug little d-bag show his face in the ottawa locker room ever again. this guy is a complete joke and anyone who wants this tool on the sabres needs their head checked. this is an absolute joke...way to be heater...loser
07/01/2009 8:24AM
Team safety
maybe its a good thing for Edmonton.. you never know when heatley might kill another teammate..
07/01/2009 8:37AM
Trade Derek Roy
Use him as to acquire another d-man
07/01/2009 9:02AM
jay mckee
sabres could use him back if the price is right, sign him
07/01/2009 10:21AM
Jay McKee
If he takes league min to be a 6th/7th go for it... He's got the character I think we're missing, but not a lot of gas left in the tank.
07/01/2009 10:41AM
Just Thinking
The Sedin Twins on a line with Vanek.
07/01/2009 10:49AM
sabres
get the sedin twins
07/01/2009 11:01AM
Dreading Darcy
In 1 hour, Darcy has a chance to make club better. But I'm fearing he'll sit idly by and let leaders, and defenseman skate on by
07/01/2009 11:11AM
Just thinking....
That would cost A LOT
07/01/2009 11:32AM
Isn't It Amazing
God forbid Darcy and Quinn do something good for this franchise
07/01/2009 11:33AM
What About....
Briere, rumors going around that Philly may buy him out. He could possibly come pretty cheap, provide some leadership and guidence to guys like Gerbe and Kennedy. Maybe even revive guys like Roy. I know we need some more grit on this team but Danny could also help this team out if he can stay healthy.
07/01/2009 11:39AM
Stop Thinking
They remain in Vancouver at 30.5 mil each for five years.
07/01/2009 11:59AM
Sedins stay in Vancouver
TSN Reports CANUCKS RE-SIGN SEDINS TO FIVE-YEAR CONTRACTS
07/01/2009 12:11PM
Casino or Sabres making a move?
I think the chances of me going to the casino...playing let it ride, and getting a royal flush are better than the Sabres picking up anyone thats a name in the free agent market.
07/01/2009 12:21PM
Free Agency Is Open
What time will a press conference be held today on WGR?
07/01/2009 12:27PM
Ohlund
TSN reports Mathias Ohlund has signed with Tampa Bay for an average of $3.75 million for 7 years
07/01/2009 12:44PM
c'mon
can we just add komisarek, move tallinder and lydman and hecht and get on with our lives
07/01/2009 12:46PM
Dvorak
The Panthers have resigned Radek Dvorak for two years, $3.4 million
07/01/2009 12:51PM
D-Men Market
Hopefully $4.5 mil over the first 5 years for Ohlund won't set the market for the second tier d-men, if we even try to get one. Wish they would look more at a trade, we certainly have enough wingers that we could ship out of here.
07/01/2009 1:00PM
Gionta
Grab Brian Gionta and dump Derek Roy. More experience, leadership and tougher than Roy. A proven winner and team player.
07/01/2009 1:00PM
Get rid of connolly, hecht
and pick up cole and antropov NOW Darcy
07/01/2009 1:01PM
Sabres Need To
Trade Connolly and Hecht for draft picks, sign Antropov and Cole
07/01/2009 1:14PM
Orr
The Maple Leafs signed Colton Orr to 4 years, $1 million per.
07/01/2009 1:17PM
The Market Is Set Low
What is Regier waiting for?
07/01/2009 1:26PM
Orr
TSN reports Colton Orr to Toronto 4 yrs, 4 million dollers.
07/01/2009 1:42PM
Orr
Toronto got that b1tch
07/01/2009 1:48PM
IDEA
Drop Hecht, Tallinder, and LydmanSign: McKee, Gaborik and Beaucheman.JUST A THOUGHT
07/01/2009 1:48PM
Beautiful Dreamer
The Sabres aren't picking up anybody; but they will stand idly by while other clubs take one or two half-way good players off their roster. The Sabres aren't getting better....they're getting worse!
07/01/2009 1:57PM
Gionta
I want to see the Sabres go after Gionta. He would be great on the top line, and it would be nice to see him back in Western NY.
07/01/2009 2:00PM
Gionta
I would love to see Gionta back in Western NY. He is a great character guy.
07/01/2009 2:16PM
Didn't see this one coming
Hossa 12 year deal with Chicago! Wow! Do you think this makes them the favorite out of the West?
07/01/2009 2:38PM
Is Darcy Awake???
We don't need bug money stars. We need some grit on this team and it does not cost much. Use the 3.5 million that they were wasting on Max NotGoodEnough and get a couple bangers in here.
07/01/2009 2:45PM
montador??
Who is this guy? Why spend money on him.. put it towards Spacek.
07/01/2009 2:49PM
darcy is awake...
montador! let the face-washing and cross checking begin.

07/01/2009 3:31PM

I guess this means Spacek won't be back. Too bad.. our best dman by far.
07/01/2009 3:33PM
Lets See
Gaborik

07/01/2009 3:34PM

07/01/2009 7:28PM
we suck
montreal had a good day I'd say.....and their in our division..we are mediocre(think thats how you spell it) AGAIN
07/01/2009 8:46PM
W.O.W
they did something not much
07/01/2009 9:13PM
Trade derek roy. Are you crazy?
Who ever wrote that is nuts. Is it not bad enough they let two of our best players and point producers (Drury and Briere) get away for nothing. Now this guy wants to trade our leading scorer. You are crazy.
07/01/2009 10:03PM
Should we be suprised !!!
Once again the Sabres have done nothing but make that one little move that they do every year to say they were involved. We couldn't afford Madden or the Knuble deals to bring veteran leadership to the team. Pathetic.I feel bad for all you suckers who bought season tickets.
07/01/2009 10:23PM
wow
It's not as easy as i'm taking you, you, and you... it cost money and no matter what we do with players, fans will always have something to complain about
07/02/2009 8:24AM
Wow...
I love letting go of guys that produce!
07/02/2009 9:14AM
Montreal
Had a good day? TSN didn't seem to think highly of what they did. The only decent players they picked up have been Cammalleri and probably Gomez. Considering what they are losing (Kovalev, Koivu, Tanguay, etc), they still have massive holes to fill. It's funny, people rip on Pominville's contract, how about Gionta's? They had pretty close to the same production last year, Pommer is 3-4 years younger and Gionta has had 3 straight down years of 20 goals. We're overpaying, right? Then again, why doesn't NJ want Madden/Gionta anymore? Oh wait, we're not suppose to analyze that side of the coin, sorry.
07/02/2009 9:21AM
Regier is a fraud
Is this guy really an NHL GM? He doesn't know how to sign anybody. Comments please...
07/02/2009 10:29AM
Early Preview.
Looks like 0-6 vs.
the Habs unless Darcy gets moving.
07/02/2009 10:31AM
Hey Darcy!
Burn in Hell!!
07/02/2009 10:32AM
Seriously?!
Lets see you be an NHL GM, i guarantee that you wouldnt be 1/4 of what Regier is
07/02/2009 10:32AM
Roy
yeah trade Derek Roy that's a great idea. I'm not sure whether you noticed, but we have three players on this team, and Roy is one of them. but you're right, lets trade him for brooks orpik or something it will be great
07/02/2009 10:34AM
Briere
Yep Briere is a great guy to bring back. He loves this team so much he bolted within his first hour on the market.
07/02/2009 10:45AM
Roy II
Roy puts the fear of God into opponents--the fear of a slash or cheap shot. This team needs to acquire some real men, not the Sallies that Darcy seems to like.
07/02/2009 10:46AM
Ban wagon fans
All you who say "Oh we are going no where this year" are going to be like "oh i have been with the Sabres through everything" once we get in the playoffs or finals.
07/02/2009 10:48AM
roy ii
I've been banned!!
07/02/2009 11:47AM
Marty Biron
I would like to see us gain Marty Biron again but he probably wouldn't want to be a backup anyways since he's good enough to be a starter. Just thinking though
07/02/2009 11:53AM
Gone.
Antropov to Atlanta 4 million per for four years. Ah Shucks!
07/02/2009 12:55PM
airtight defense
We should probably not sign another of our top 4 d-men. Guys like Tallinder and Lydman have definitely been absolutely lockdown for us. The team is a joke.
07/02/2009 1:36PM
alex kovalev?
people he can't no anything unless mr. larry quinn gets fired but we know that wouldn't happen. but go after alex kovalev because he is a good veteran that knows how to win huge games.
07/02/2009 1:56PM
Got That Feeling.
Something big is about to happen within the next couple of hours.
07/02/2009 4:48PM
Got That Feeling 2.
Just added 2 more hours on something big to happen. Regier's putting the final touches on it. One, possible two signings.
07/02/2009 4:50PM
When are they getting rid of some dead weight
Another day still same loser team get rid of some of the players that are not cutting it and if your not going to get some heart play young guys. this team was watchable last year. I can't take another year of more talent leaving and not getting equal or better talent in return. At least if they play all young guys (if they are not going to sign or trade anyone)maybe it will be fun to watch them again.
07/02/2009 4:52PM
Change PLEASE!!!!

Just a couple more hours and Darcy will announce the signing of Bob Corkum
07/02/2009 8:16PM
I want him, We need him
Saku Koviu. But we won't get him. Come on Darcy tell me it's not the right move.. Figure it out. It's 8:15pm on July 2nd and he is still out there.
07/02/2009 10:28PM
Nothing upstairs!!
The Buff GM is totally baked!!Reg keeps speaking of trades after free agency dies down. Who in the heck would want half these misfits. I say,if your not gonna be active bringing in some proven talent, then make some cuts and let the kids play. Regier,s foolishness an inaction have sent the Sabs back again. Sabres need a real Hockey GM,the fans deserve it!!
07/03/2009 3:41AM
trade Vanek
the guy has no passion
07/03/2009 10:38AM
darcy!!!!!!!!!!
darcy is the worst gm ever
07/03/2009 11:08AM
Change
You have seen all that is going to change on the Sabres. Darcy made his splash---thats it
07/03/2009 3:31PM
Heatley!!!!!!
If the Sabres could only work a deal with Ottawa for Heatley there could be a future for Buffalo! Galisano, follow Wilson's lead!
07/04/2009 2:24AM
Mistake
Tyler Arnason signs a "two-way" contract. Think it should read two-year.
07/04/2009 4:14AM
So much for that..
So much for that prediction.. Typical Buffalo. He likes our "core?" the same core that led us to 2 middle of the pack seasons? Give me a break... Our upper management reminds me of the management from the movie major league.. They just want to see us fail. Thanks in advance Darcy for another playoff-less season!
07/05/2009 4:50PM
what the spacek!
well its sad to see him go but hopefully we got a good replacement in montador(sp?)
07/05/2009 5:43PM
NHL goin down the tubes
I dont blame management or the players for the recent playoff drought. How about the NHL slowly turning into the NHL of 7 years ago where a slow grinding team wins instead of a fast talented one. NHL is a joke.
07/05/2009 9:31PM
Ted Nolan
Bring back Teddy...he'll get these pansies to play or he'll bench them. Long live Ray, Barnaby, and May. Teams hated playing the Sabres back then.
07/06/2009 3:24PM
jay mckee
told me today that darcy knows he wants to play for sabres. just waitin forthem to make roster space
07/07/2009 8:57PM
We need a "pulse"
A regular throbbing in the arteries caused by the contractions of the heart.Darcy, please gives us a pulse & gives us back our hearts,By making a big-time trade now,Buffalo can fall in love again -right now I feel like I loss my "soul mate".The division is passing us by,I just want to bass in the sun again, but we need a pulse!
07/11/2009 4:55PM
Dipenta
Sabres sign 6'2" 200 pound defenseman Joe Dipenta.
