Bills Escape Miami Without Injury

If there is good news to come from a 38-to-10 loss to Miami on Sunday, it's that the Bills didn't suffer any new injuries. Head Coach Dick Jauron said that there were only some bumps and bruises.

Buffalo was short-handed going into the Miami game. Coach Jauron said those players are still week-to-week. S Donte Whitner, S Bryan Scott, T Demetrius Bell and DT John McCargo all missed the contest.

After a night of reflection, Coach Jauron still struggled to find good things to about the loss.
"It was very disappointing for all of us. Whenever we lose a game, I question everything I've done in terms of preparation. I start there and then we work and correct our mistakes."

With expectations high heading into the year, a 1-and-3 start can't be good for job security. Jauron is not more concerned about his position than he was before Sunday.

"No. I've always felt the same in the professional game of football, as a player and as a coach. Every game is THE game. Every game you're playing for your job and every game you're coaching for your job. I really enjoy it. I would enjoy it a lot more if we were winning, obviously. But, I love the job. I love the league. We'll take it one game at a time and go forward."

The team is still behind their Head Coach. DT Kyle Williams said there won't be a divided locker room on that issue.
"We're behind everybody in this organization. We believe in one another. We just have to go out and win football games."
QB Trent Edwards says that it's not their coach's fault they're 1-and-3.
"Players make plays. Coaches just coach. Schemes that are drawn up, players can trump those schemes and make plays on Sunday. It has nothing to do with our Head Coach."

Jauron said that his confidence level in quarterback Trent Edwards is still "very high". Edwards threw 3 interceptions in the loss Sunday.
Edwards himself thought worrying about job security was futile.
"I don't, honestly, pay attention to any of that. Any time I waste worrying about that is time I could prepare for the Cleveland Browns. It's not really my issue."

draftpick
We might as well play for a draft pick. Hopefully we can draft a few quality corner backs so we can convert them to play quarterback, left tackle, etc. Then we can draft a linebacker and convert them to corner back to fill the void.

Mission accomplished. Given their abilities and expectations, Jauron and Edwards should take a bow for a job well done. Owens seems to be firm believer that it is better to be safe than sorrow, too.

QB Change = YES
Fitzpatrick now! Not 4 weeks from now. Fire Jauron, move Van Pelt to coach, afterall he can do everything. Yeah right!

re: draftpick
That is hilarious! The Bills might actually do that.

Really!!?
I was injured watching that garbage yesterday. How offensive can football get in Buffalo, It amazes me each week how bad it is.

wow
Jauron sucks...it's a no brainer
10/05/2009 3:51PM
Why?
Why, Dick, is it if "every game is THE game" you stand there as if your a statue? People read your demeanor on the sidelines. Your demeanor says "I don't care". And I say, neither do I anymore. Watching this team has become a waste of time.

Why is this man still the coach?
Tell me that one!

Vote Nix for GM
Buddy Nix is already a member of the Bill's front office and he is respected around the league as one of the best talent evalators! Wilson loves to promote from within! Buddy Nix is also a close friend of Marty Schottenheimer

Continuity Counts
IF buffalo ever wants a winning season there has to be major changes within the organization. At this point in the season I don't think a coaching change will benefit the team's preformance, but after this 4 - 12 season, the coaching staff (minus bobby april) and management staff need to go! We went into the offseason knowing we needed depth in the O-line, and linebacking core. Besides a few draft picks, nothing was done about this. Now with injuries, these units look like a joke! You can not blame Levitre and Wood, they are rookies, but why do we not have any veterans on the O-line???

This is the most pathetic headline
Seriously is this supposed to be some type of moral victory?
10/05/2009 6:29PM
waste
i want my $200 back. i live and work in ft. lauderdale. what a waste of my time and money.
10/05/2009 7:04PM
Time to gut the entire staff.
Buffalo hasn't had a real coach since Marv, and other than bledsoe-hasn't had a quarterback since Kelly. This isn't acceptable.I have waited since 1995 for this team to build an offensive line.I am still waiting. This staff is just wasting the talent they do have.Fire Jauron NOW!!!!
10/05/2009 7:55PM
Fire Jauron!
Let's get someone to coach this team that has fire and passion (see: Gruden, Jon). Of course the Bills all love Jauron. He's never going to call them out or kick their a$$es when they play bad. Get that Dick outta here.

Bills in Toronto
Expect a lot of drunkenness at the BIlls game in Toronto. You'd have to be an alcoholic to want to witness this travesty. Ever considere pitting these guys a CFL club. They may small and second-rate, but at least they've got some moves. Please, Buffalo, demand Dick's, get an NFL quarter back (did you see the Vikings-Packers game---does Evans belong in the same league?), and run Lynch and Owens out of town, too.

No injuries!!!
I smell superbowl!
