I've been told that my "Tweets" were funnier than the game. It wasn't all on purpose, but feel free to see the extra immediate reactions here: Twitter.com/NicholasMendola
For a fan base that's seen this -- or something just as brutal -- plenty of times before, it's amazing that it continues to surprise us.
I spent Sportstalk Saturday saying there's no way the Bills could lose to the hapless Browns. This was, after all, a Cleveland team worse than they were last year, and devoid of any offensive weapons outside of Jamal Lewis. As bad as the Buffalo Bills are, I simply could not believe they'd lose at home to this 0-4 team.
But, there was something I failed to comprehend.
We have the worst team in the National Football League.
Aie, the massacre...
-- Twenty-two seconds and you dump it off to Lee Evans five yards past the line? Then, you heave the ball once you've almost crossed the line of scrimmage? Trent Edwards heard Derek Anderson demand that he could be the lowest form of quarterbacking life, and said, "Give me a shovel, and watch me dig through this garbage."
Like "Fight Club," we've found rock bottom.
-- Staying with the "Fight Club" comparison, Bills fans will feel like Raymond K. Hessel tomorrow. Their breakfast will taste better than any meal non-Bills fans have ever tasted.
-- I guess Rob Ryan knew what he was talking about when he said this about Trent Edwards last week:
"I don't think that's [Bengals quarterback] Carson Palmer back there by any stretch. Absolutely, he's not. Not too many quarterbacks are. The guy can run and do some things, but we've played Brett Favre. We've played Carson Palmer. Those are two pretty good quarterbacks right there. This guy [Edwards] always seems to have a lot to say, so I'm going to say the same thing. Let's go. Let's get it on, see what he's all about this week."
Edwards, being the polite fella he is, thought it best to prove that no man is a liar.
-- I want to say some positive things. I need to. The defense was good enough to win today, even with no linebackers and a secondary that should've been called tertiary.
-- The Bills had to have been trying to get Dick Jauron fired. There is no way professional athletes assembled onto one unit could play that bad. I'm literally sick to my stomach. It was a garbage show so poor that I was half-hoping the game would end in a 3-3 tie.
-- Dick Jauron has to be fired. Has to be. I was on his side, or at least not ready to fire him, for weeks and weeks longer than I should've. The penalties, the quarterbacking, the everything.... stinks.
-- YOU need to feel insulted right now. Not just for how bad this team is on the field, but for the canceled on-field ceremonies and the lies about them. It's one of those things where you're going to hear that the media and fans are creating lies to hurt the Bills in some sado-masochistic philosophy to make our jobs stink. Or this exists: Ralph Wilson to get Hall of Fame ring on Sunday.
-- Alex Van Pelt needs to be criticized, and will at least twice in this space, for not running the ball more, in particular with Marshawn Lynch, who moved the pile the way he usually does. Sure, Fred Jackson wasn't especially effective as the "change of pace," but if Cleveland's porous run defense was begging the Bills to rush, then Trent Edwards' brain was. Weak-minded to say the least.
-- When's the trade deadline? Is there a guard, quarterback or linebacker with two legs we could get for Roscoe Parrish?
-- Nine false starts is bad, but how many true starts did they have?
-- Terrell Owens played a heck of a ball game, and was more than polite during his post-game press conference. Dude shouldn't have to leap for every pass... and the sad part will be when analysts point to his numbers as declining talent.
-- Note to school children: steer clear of Roscoe Parrish's lawn.
-- The Bills had the ball for three more minutes than Cleveland. Guess what? It's not the no-huddle's fault, like I've been saying for weeks.
-- I sincerely believe that all NFL teams are better on the whole than even the best NCAA teams, but I think if you let the LSU defense and Texas offense take on the Bills, well, it would be a very interesting game. Interesting like finding out what would happen if you glued your hands to a ceiling fan. Interest is a funny term.
-- An in-game email from a pal named Alex:
"for your consideration:
i don't claim to know how nfl head coaching contracts are structured and worded. i don't know if it states explicitly that the coach's job is exclusively the position of head coach and any other gig would void the deal. but think about how absurd and hilarious it would be if, instead of just canning jauron, ralph wilson were to demote him. not to assistant head coach. not to defensive coordinator. straight to db coach. you kick up bobby april or do whatever the hell ralph does, and you let dick jauron look like a completely emasculated turd, calmly addressing mcgee on the sidelines to the tune of $3m a year."
Go Bills.
Stat line I enjoyed:
Derek Anderson, 2-of-17, 23 yards, 1 INT
-- That was laughably awful. Almost as awful as when the Bills trade for him this week.
Stat line I didn't enjoy:
Marshawn Lynch, 16 carries, 79 yards; six receptions, 56 yards
-- Why did I not enjoy the best offensive stat line on the team? Because it's inexcusable that they did not run more. Call it an absolutely valid knock against Alex Van Pelt.
Game ball:
The defensive line
-- Three weeks running. Don't kid yourself. I'm tempted to give it to Owens, just for giggles.
Lastly...
My job is to talk and type about sports. I get paid for it. Before I started at WGR, did I ever envision that multiple times during my career at the station, people would text and email me, apologizing for their team that I had to talk or type about them? So awful. Fire almost everyone on offense.
Next week:
It's the New York Jets. If Trent Edwards can't get himself pulled against Rex Ryan's defense, I don't know who can. This does seem like a game the Bills keep inexplicably close, but I'm ready to not be shocked. Until I see a coaching move, or something, I'm picking the Jets, though I kinda want to pull a Dirk Daniels and picking the Jets by 131 points. New York Jets 20, Buffalo 10.
lots of cheap/free tickets will be available. 1-15 looks promising. No. 1 pick and a drop of 20,000 season ticket holders means good seats will be available next year...If you care
10/11/2009 4:56PM
Would they come ?
Even if by some miracle the Bills offered a Cowher, a Billick or a a Shanahan their asking price would they consider coming here ?
10/11/2009 4:56PM
Start rebuilding today..........
Juron and Edwards have to go. No head coach and a backup QB would be better than these two. RALPH, WAKE UP!!!!!!
10/11/2009 4:58PM
Power Rankings
The Bills are 33!!! Fire the coach and the QB. It's time to start over!!!
10/11/2009 5:04PM
Jon Gruden
Anyone who says that you dont need to have a head coach that fires his team up with some passion is dead wrong!!! We need someone here who won't settle for mediocrity...We need someone who will coach these guys to play with passion and anger...thats nothappening right now!!! theres a coach out there that can do it!!!! Jon Gruden-
10/11/2009 5:10PM
press conference
I don't know why people argue that Jauron is a nice guy. I think he's a con man and an egomaniac. You can tell by his press conferences that he butters up his players so they go out and swing for him (a la Trent Edwards). Jauron isn't interested inwinning games. He wants his ego stroked, plain and simple.
10/11/2009 5:12PM
Remember who hired Juron?
I wonder if anyone remembers who the person was who hired Juron?.This guy has had only one winning season as a head coach. When he was brought in,i was sick to my stomach.Another soft head coach. But we were told that there was another guy who was hired, and had the same success record wise as Juron. We were told dont go by the win or losses of a coach, beceause i didn`t have a winning record either,b4 getting this gigg. Marv Levy brought this guy in.Wonder if Ralph is going to go back to his old story telling icon for more advice. There is one solution that i can see.Fire Brandon and Juron tomorrow.Hire Bill Cower as gm and coach. He has stated that he wants to get back in it,and he`s only a few hrs away from here.DO IT NOW !!!!!.
10/11/2009 5:12PM
HELP
PLEASE FIRE DICK THE MASTER JAURON I WANNA WATCH FOOTBALL AGAIN.HE POSSIBLY CAN BE THE WORST COACH SINCE KAY STEVENSON OR THE LIONS WANYE FONTES
10/11/2009 5:16PM
Time to stop
Its sad that everyone is getting on the bills' case. They are not that bad. Oh wait. Yes they are. Worst team I've seen in this miserable 10 year stretch.
10/11/2009 5:21PM
>sigh<
Are there any other winless teams we can help out? Why do the Bills make bad teams look good?
10/11/2009 5:28PM
WTF
What a waste of time that game was.
10/11/2009 5:30PM
Bills fans are to blame fof the Bills past 10 years!!!
First off I called it...I said the Bills would lose to Cleveland. Second, Ive been saying all along that the Bills fans are the reason the team stinks so bad and has for the past 10 years. If Bills fans would stop supporting this horrible franchise by selling out all the games and buying all the Bills mechandise then maybe Ralph Wilson would have an incentive to go out and spend money on a big name coach and big name players. But as always, Bills fans support their beloved Bills to the very end because there is absolutly nothing les egoing on or to do in that god forsaken place called Buffalo, NY. Hey Buffalo, at least your NFL teams is an exact mirror image of your city and you as residents.......you are all born LOSERS!
10/11/2009 5:32PM
miserable
good thing we dont play crossover games against the ufl because the only way this could get more embarrassing and depressing would be losing to a JP losman quarterbacked las vegas team...and i bet itd be a close one.
10/11/2009 5:33PM
HELP AGAIN
What is with these guys? When are we ever going to get legiimate help? When are we going to put in QB2 or QB3?
Doesn't anybody on that team give a damn the everyone is laughing at them and our area? They pay $6 million for TO and never throw to him. No huddle my ass.....give me a break. It's no huddle all right and it shows. A no huddle offense usually does something constructive!
10/11/2009 5:38PM
AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
10/11/2009 5:39PM
Bills Fans Are To Blame For The Bills Mess....It's True
It wont make any difference if the Bills fire jauron or get a new GM or even if they get rid of every player on the team and bring in new blood next year because of this one simple fact........Ralph Wilson is the owner. 50 years is a long time.....and there is a clear pattern with Ralph........spend as little money as possible because he knows that Buffalonians will eat his Bills product up no matter what he gives Bills fans. Bills fans are the stupidest NFL fans in the entire league. I mean, the Bills have the longest streak of not making the playoffs (10 years) over every other NFL team yet you continue to sell out all the home games in Ralph Wilson Stadium (the 7 you have now instead of 8.....lol). When are you people in Buffalo going to wake up. When Ralph dies, your team is gone from Buffalo. And until Ralph dies, he is going to save money and give you what you currently have. So why would you spend your hard earned and hard to come by dollars there in WNY to go see a crappy Bills game knowing that the Bills will play horribel and that the will be abonding your city once Ralph dies? I just dont get it....I dont understand the logic of Bills fans. Is it really thast boring in Buffalo, NY that you just HAVE TO go to all the games? Are you Bills fans ever going to consider a boycott of the Bills? How bout more booooing at the games......do something Bilsl fans....you look like a joke!
10/11/2009 5:43PM
Grandad
Listening to Jauron was like listening to my grandad talk. He has NO emotion, NO visible or audible care for the loss. He cleary doesnt seem to care we are not winning.

10/11/2009 5:53PM
The BadNews Bills
Its a shame that people have to sit through this Dick jauron rus brandon everyone in the orgainization deserves to get fired its embrassing to be a fan and its embarassing to hear what espn has to say about our small town team... On defense there are at least 5 players that wouldnt be 2nd stringers anywhere else injuries are no excuse... I hope they lose the rest of their games ....P.S. Trent has no instincts no talent and no arm... get rid of him!!!
10/11/2009 5:53PM
I know...but
I know the league is not the NFL but how laughable is this? At least he gets it done!!!
&&&&
Losman, who spent the last five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, completed 21 of 31 passes for 226 yards. He threw a 1-yard TD pass to Dorsey with 13 seconds leftin the second quarter, and had an 11-yard scoring pass to tight end Adam Bergen that gave Las Vegas a 17-14 lead with 11:07 left in the third quarter.
10/11/2009 5:55PM
Bills Fans are not to Blame
You must be a Colts fan or other bandwagon team fan. You're not from Buffalo so you don't know anything about the area. you have no idea how many great things are there. Also, you are illiterate -learn to spell!!
10/11/2009 5:56PM
You are a jerk
The jerk that put down the people who live in Western NY is a jerk. A Big Jerk!
10/11/2009 5:59PM
Shoeless Roscoe?
Did we just witness a professional sports team trow a game? I'm simply in awe that I actually witnessed such greivous and gutless performance that the only conclusion is this team throw the game. This has to be the absolute lowest of lows as a bill's
fan? They QUIT!........
You can't hide it and you can't candy coat it. It's a fact. Your job as the media
is to report the truth. How can these guys ever look at us with any dignity? How can I go to the game and wonder if what I see is real?

Well after living in Phoenix for many years and being insulted by another one of those good old boy owners(Bidwell) I didnt think things could ever get worse, then THE MOVE .. Phoenix to Buffalo, to take care of some sick relatives, little did I know it would be the football team , because that would be the only way you can explain the last ten years , taking care of sick family, and I think they are terminal, Mr. Wilson makes Bill Bidwell look like George Steinbrenner,he did pay for the players and get a coaching staff that can make a playoff run, you dont have to be great to make the playoffs , you just have to be better than the worse teams , and Bills that you arent , so hang up the phone on Jauron , get rid of Edwards and start dialing 1-800-Cowher
10/11/2009 6:16PM
Strange
just wondering, why is someone who hates Buffalo so much even spending any time reading/posting about the Bills game?...Strange
10/11/2009 6:18PM
Let's GO
LOCO's!!!!!

Your Opinion???

It hurts
I give up That was not even close to NFL calibre football and the organization should be embarased and do something about it.
10/11/2009 6:25PM
Dick Jauron . . .
. . .is a con man. This guy's working a scam to the tune of 9 mil
10/11/2009 6:28PM
That game...
made me want to light my own face on fire.
10/11/2009 6:42PM
conspiracy
IThis is so bad it seems that the Bills are trying to alienate their fans so they can say the fans don't support the team and then move to Toronto or LA
10/11/2009 6:45PM
preparing to move
It seems the Bills are trying to lose fans. What other logical explanation can there be. Then they can just move and nobody will care.
10/11/2009 6:54PM
pay for performance
In an economy as bad as this and employees being scrutinzed for everything they do...it must be nice to to be a millionaire when you are absolutely terrible a your job.
10/11/2009 6:55PM
...
holy crap
10/11/2009 6:56PM
Worst game ever
I have never watched a more awful game than this. Both teams sucked. But the Bills are terrible.
10/11/2009 7:12PM
Take this job and shove it
Do people really think Shanahan, Cowher or Gruden would ever take the Bills HC job. Not with the track record of these clowns. There is not enough money in the world to take this job under the current setup. Do you see Bill Cowher taking orders from RussBrandon.
10/11/2009 7:16PM
WOW
Both Teams Should Be Removed From The NFL for Putting On Such a Horrible Game
10/11/2009 7:18PM
losing
Incompotent owners and managamant hire incompotent coaches and players. This team's problems go straight to the top. If you want to enjoy football again, I suggest you find a team outside of WNY to root for. Nothing will change here until a Winner buys the Bills and hopefully decides to keep them here.
10/11/2009 7:19PM
40 Plus Years
I first became a Bills fan in 1968 and have lived through some atrocious seasons. I have SAT through some atrocious seasons. But I really have a tough time believing that any of these previous seasons have been as bad as this one. Blow it up and startover - and hope that the Bills remain in Buffalo years into the future.
10/11/2009 7:20PM
Consistent....
Wel, the Bills wanted to maintain continuity by keeping "Dick", looks to me like they are getting what they asked for....
10/11/2009 7:25PM
Bills = POO
No joke: This team is so bad, I should watch the whole game over on fast forward with Benny Hill music playing in the background along with a good hearty laugh track. At this point, they should remodel Ralph Wilson stadium into a giant toilet bowel complete with a huge lever that Ralphie pulls after the game is mercifully over. The sound of that huge flush is the hopes of a so-so respectable season going in the pooper along with all the money spent to watch this crap. The coach is like the floater that just won't go down no matter how many times you flush. This team is hilarious....no..it just stinks!
10/11/2009 7:30PM
The curse of Buffalo
You can bring any superstar headcoach, player, GM, management and this city ain't gonna win. Just troll back to all the people who been with our sports teams, never to win anything, but win with other teams...
10/11/2009 7:39PM
Bills=Poo
That was great. Well put. Jauron is the floater...man I need comic relief right now.
10/11/2009 7:47PM
Worse than Miami, wtf????!!!
Have to agree with Mendola above when he said this team was actually doing some of these flubber plays on purpose, I thought the same thing. I mean, running backwards on a return 15-20 yards, touching and dropping the ball with under a minute left in thegame for a turnover when it is tied at 3-3? Heck, I will probably start voluteering my Sundays to change baby diapers if this is going to continue, it might not smell as bad. This BS would make Freddy Krueger turn over in his grave.
10/11/2009 7:51PM
Who would want to coach these clowns
Cowher, Billick Shanahan Gruden - Ralph would have to pay them twice what they are worth to take on this train wreck of a team
10/11/2009 7:55PM
Go Denver
Just watched denver play the Pats...now there IS a team this year!!! New QB, New coach AND ONE WITH EMOTION and simply getting it done. remember that saying "good teams find a way to win"?
10/11/2009 8:03PM
Re: Bills Fans Are To Blame For The Bills Mess....It's True
I just dont get it....I dont understand the logic of Bills fans. Is it really thast boring in Buffalo, NY that you just HAVE TO go to all the games?....To answer your question, obviously yes, I've lived here 40 years and without sports, I don't know what we'd all be doing here, besides drinking beer!
10/11/2009 8:08PM
Ralph sell the team please do us fans all a favor
Ralph why don't you just sell this team. You are doing nothing to improve this team. Dick Jauron should have been fired in the offseason and Russ Brandon is a terrible GM. I just don't understand how those two can go to work everyday and do a shitty job and get paid for it. Ralph if you don't plan on making improvements to your team than why own it. The people of Buffalo deserve much more than what your giving us to watch. The way this team is going any decent player this team has isn't going to stay with an organization that is run by moron's. Wake up before it's too late!
10/11/2009 8:11PM
No More Season Tix
Long time season ticket holder will not be renewing next year. Sentiment from Kelly Club is that renewals for next year will be slim.
10/11/2009 8:15PM
Bills suck
I watched more of the Judge Judy show and found it more entertaining.
10/11/2009 8:19PM
Go ahead Owens, no one will blame you
If there ever is a time for Owens to sound off, he has my permission. Go ahead, let them have it. Bout the only media attention the Bills are going to get, so you might as well get your licks in. Actually, you can say what we all want to. Go for it.
10/11/2009 8:20PM
10 years
when will this end? i look at a guy like McDaniels in Denver.....here is a guy who has his s*** together....to think we cannot do better than Jauron is ridiculous. The sad thing is....i think myself and everyother Bills fan would love to hear that we have 10 or 11 draft picks next year to start rebuilding this thing. With the right coach, new QB, and a stockpile of pics....in THEORY
10/11/2009 8:22PM
10 years
when will it change....in THEORY if new coach, new QB.....trade roscoe, owens, and marshawn, WE NEED DRAFT PICS....WE HAVE NO DEPTH ON THIS TEAM.....u mean to tell me you cannot find better linebackers than Buggs or Palmer....not good
10/11/2009 8:24PM
Is this an NFL TEAM?
This is a joke. All fans please boycott the next home game - do not show up like a drunk idiot trying to show some pride - give this sick joke of an organization back to the fools getting paid for a garbage product on the field.
10/11/2009 8:27PM
rebuild please
its called trade the value pics you have because if you do not.....it will take us years to rebuild with 6 or 7 draft pics
10/11/2009 8:27PM
Maybin?
Why do we have water boys playing linebacker right now and can't find a way to get our number one draft pick on the field? Now would be a good time to get some experience. After all he did play Line backer/ D-end for penn state.
10/11/2009 8:29PM
Even trade
Toronto Argonauts for the Bills, minus Trent Edwards.
10/11/2009 8:37PM
ummmmmmmm
Getcha pop corn ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a season. keep on routeing for them 2 win because when u want them too loose theyll win
10/11/2009 8:40PM

THERES THIS GUY THAT GOING AROUND SAYING BUFFALOS A CRAPPY CITY AND SAYING THAT WERE LOOSERS ON HERE AND ON THE SABRES BLOGS HERE ON WGR 550. IGNORE HIM DONT TALK TO HIM HEL GO AWAY JUST DONT READ HIS CRAP OR GET ANGERY OVER IT
10/11/2009 8:46PM
Taking a broader look than Just Edwards and Jauron
Well lets see..... We are down to out last middle linebacker due to injuries, so lets put him in on a special teams play!!!! Great idea now we need to put Mr. Ellsion in at LB, so the LB that
shouldnt have made the starting lineup is now our middle LB.
Also, that brings me to my next poiint, is it really just bad luck that for the last four years we have lost more than 6 starters a year to injury? When does someone look at our trainers and strength and conditioning coaches????
Here is an idea.... I am so glad we brought in TO but why bother if you dont have a qb. If you trade TO and Roscoe that should make up what Jauron makes and we can have a new coach. Sure it wont save this season but if Ralph is really all about winning but still need to make money than cut players this year and get a coach for next year.
We do have a lot of talent, we need someone to coach them to be their best and we need someone to keep them healthy.
Jauron needs to go back to his role in the movie "Thinner" and get off our sideline.
10/11/2009 8:50PM
new head coach
well if dick is fired who are we going to get? the offensive Cordinator of Alabama Tech or some crap like that
10/11/2009 8:51PM
trade
how about the bills, for the blue jays and the CN Tower
10/11/2009 8:58PM
Not guts, NO GLORY
Dick Jauron is a turd. Ralph Wilson is a decrepit, dehydrated turd. AVP should be a back-up Offensive Coordinator. Trent Edwards has potential...potential for being the first female QB in the history of the NFL. He plays like an effeminate turd. Actually, that is an unfair, chauvinistic comment and even if I were a big enough jerk to really say something like that, it still wouldn’t do any justice. Trent, buddy, grow a pair and throw to one of your TWO tremendous down-field threats (Evans and Owens). If I see Captain Checkdown dump one off for a loss of one on another 3rd and 5 down, I will just lose it.
Why is Trent this gutless turd might you ask? Coaching. Look who he has been playing under since the day he was drafted. A man who is so gutless with such a blatant lack of desire, fire, or any distinguishable emotion that a word should be created to denote a negative measurement of guts because the term "gutless" doesn’t cut it: Dick Jauron. “D!&k-less” Jauron? Hmm, you be the judge.
I like Trent. I'll admit am biased because I have met him on several occasions and know that at least for a time during camp last season, he had tremendous respect and confidence from the rest of his teammates in the Bills’ locker room (unlike the tool warehouse that was JP Losman). He is a good guy and despite what most say, he is capable of throwing the ball down field with accuracy. I’ve seen it first hand many times. This kid was the top-rated passer in the nation coming out high school. He can chuck it. Can the California boy throw it through gale force winds, snow, and sub-zero temperatures? Well, that remains to be seen. Ostensibly, though, it is not a matter of capability. It is a matter of willingness. Because of my bias, I do not want to give up on him. In earnest, it isn't just a man crush on the gregarious and good-hearted kid from Stanford, I don't want to start from scratch again again again again. We have all seen the capability of this team. They show flashes. However few and far between, they are there. I don't think it is a personnel issue. It's an attitude issue.
This “lack thereof” issue comes from the head coach. Jauron has about as much killer instinct as Chuckie from the Rugrats. Every time I watch a Bills game, I see that same emotionless, better-safe-than-sorry mentality. The current Buffalo Bills team is the boring personality, loser mentality of Jauron incarnate. The team embodies his emotionless style with no fire or FIGHT. Think about it: when was the last time you saw a big hit from the Bills defense? Does your head hurt yet? Yeah, it's because it doesn't happen. Since Jauron has been here, I have never seen such safe form tackling in my life. There are no bodies flying around. Where is the violence? Football is a violent game. I’m not calling for blood but if someone could set the tone once in awhile that would just be stellar. Still, while Jauron is still her we suffer. It’s not the solution to all of our problems but it’s a start…a good one at that.
No attitude No guts =NO GLORY. As an Ivy-league turd, you would think Jauron would be better at simple mathematics.
10/11/2009 8:59PM
to all the people who say fans are the problem
without the fans support over the last 10 years, there would be no buffalo bills
10/11/2009 9:07PM
RE: No Guts, No GLORY
couldn't agree more
10/11/2009 9:10PM
10 years
wow
10/11/2009 9:12PM
bye bye
23 yards passing against the Bills and they lose...Are you kidding me? This team is pathetic and getting worse each week...Undisciplined,underachieving, unemotional, uninspiring...very forgettable. Goodbye Bills

I GOT THE ANSWER!!!!!!!
Ralph is putting a turd ot there so fans go away and he can move the team..right? So all we need to do is put Charlie Sheen as QB and Wesley Snipes as RB and our prayers are anwered!!! Come on it worked in the movies!!!! AW crap this team blows...I wonder if there is a good curling tournament on ESPN 8.
10/11/2009 9:24PM
Losing
Maybe this is Ralph's way of getting the NFL to approve movement to Canada....
10/11/2009 9:24PM
The next game
calling all fans, at the next game if Jauron is still employed by the Bills, don't tune in or show up. If you feel absolutely compelled, do it only will a brown bag.
10/11/2009 9:26PM
I no longer live in Buffalo but I wouldn't pay good money to see this crap team
Thank God I'm working on Sunday's now and can't watch this team go out week to week and stink it up! Fans of Buffalo deserve alot better than this and Ralph you should be ashamed of yourself holding onto this team for this long and not finding a buyerfor this team.

Start Now
in the NFL today if you really have an owner and a coach who want to rebuild this thing and kick a** in the draft...you can turn it around quick.....dont tell me it takes 3 or 4 years to do this. Look at Atlanta...even Denver this year....McDaniels has totally changed the attitude of these guys.....sure he pissed off some people but hey this the NFL....stop trying to be everyone's best friend.....life is hard business is tougher.....You have to trade away Roscoe and Lynch...even if you get a 3rd and 4th rounder....so what.....you need to get pics to rebuild and have ammo to move up....New England usually has 4 or 5 guys picked in the first 3 rounds or top 100 picks.....and they all start....these guys think they can win and rebuild with 6 or 7 pics every year.....cannot and will not happen....im telling you this has more to do with horrible and i mean horrible draft picking over the past ten years.....you can go as far back as the year 2000 when we took Flowers in first round - bust....the 01 draft many claim was our best draft with Henry, Jennings, Clements....they are all gone....02 was a joke....Mike Williams and Josh Reed....come on....i like Josh i think hes a good team guy but not an elite player....sorry....03 Mcgahee was a marketing thing.....guy never wanted to be here...lazy....04 jP and u gave up a lot....05 roscoe was about it....06 was a disaster....do u know how many elite players could have been taken before Whitner....this guy has dont absolutely nothing in 4 years and he was the 8th overall pick.....and then you take McCargo....unreal....you had 2 first round picks...waste....it all starts with the draft boys....the depth we have on this team is a joke....you have a 220 pound middle linebacker as a starter....then u have 2 other 225 pound linebackers who were not even drafted....Kelsey Denney all these guys are just not good players....real nice guys .....of course.....the eye for talent here is ridiculous.....i can go on and on but honestly look at some of the people who were starters here and who we brought in.....its comical.....we had Coy Wire as our starting free safety as a rookie and he didnt even play that position before.....nothin against him just an example.....then you start Marcus Buggs at middle linebacker then say in the paper "we expected a lot from him" ....we keep guys like corey mcintyre on this team when we dont even have a fullback in the game...why? why not keep some quality depth at linebacker or o-line....but sadly....the bills will make a big splash come april drafting a quarterback just to sell tickets....then overcoach the hell out of him and then in 2 or 3 years he will be another bust....and we will have 7 draft pics this year....cut 3 of them.....draft another tall lean defensive lineman
10/11/2009 9:28PM
bills
6 - 3 probably rock bottom...i really hope so
10/11/2009 9:32PM
still waiting
for the past 6yrs i've picked one game to take my son to see the bills play i'm still waiting for the bills to show up and actually play like their interested in the game!not waisting my time or money on this garbage!
10/11/2009 9:35PM
new idea
What if they keep Jauron til the end of the season just to ensure they wrap up the number one pick? Tim Tebow anyone?
probably the worst game i have ever saw....cbs guys, espn guys were laughing at this game....and rightfully so
10/11/2009 9:39PM
good column nick
can't wait to see what jerry has to say
10/11/2009 9:44PM
Bills how low can you go?
You think to yourself that it can't get any worse - we were 5-1 last year and we lost out on the playoffs, but hey we can come back. For 9.5 years we have been saying that. It just isn't happening. And it not only starts with all the players, it is also with the front office and most especially the coach. This team needs leadership and accountability and they have neither. These are sad days to be a Bills fan.
10/11/2009 9:49PM
joke
hahaha
10/11/2009 10:01PM
Its all about Edwards
Dick Jauron is a truly mediocre coach but the majority of the blame falls on the shoulders of Trent Edwards and has all along. Trent has some of the best receivers in the league yet they are having to leap and dive to try to make catches (or defend against the interception). In the no huddle offense, Trent has the ability to change the play call at the line of scrimmage on any play. He does so pretty often, or at least pretends to(I doubt that he's doing much faking though, such skills are reserved for quality QB's like Peyton Manning, Brady, Favre etc). Trent changes the play call to a pass whenever he sees 8 guys in the box. That would seem to be a good move except that if you do it every time, it makes it easy for the Defense to show 8 in the box as a fake when their plan is to drop into coverage. It allows the defense to dictate. Trent checks down his plays and checks down his passes. 3rd and 3 and he throws a 2 yard pass. really? Still, its probably his best move since his deep balls look like floating hail mary passes and his mid range passes get picked off since he telegraphs them all the time. I think the Bills need a new head coach for 2010, however, canning Jauron mid-season doesn't accomplish much. Do we really want Bobby April as the head coach? When there are guys like Cowher, Shannihan, Gruden etc out there not coaching? Statistically, no team has ever made the playoffs after making a midseason head coaching change. I don't think Ralph is ready to concede the season just yet...
10/11/2009 10:10PM
I want my money back
I shelled out good, hard-earned cash for this game, and I feel gyped. What a waste...6-3, are you kidding me? This team is a joke, comparable to the Raiders. Dump Jauron, dump AVP, dump Edwards. Now.
10/11/2009 10:12PM
Ralphie
Those were nice pictures of Ralph Wilson in his box. Next week i hope it's lined with velvet.
10/11/2009 10:15PM
lol
I have to say during all this mayhem that has happend. I feel pretty excited, as If us fans have finnally united to the idea that we are not going to TRY to take this team seriously anymore. Something is going to change this week at one bills drive I canFeel it!
10/11/2009 10:21PM
Tickets
Will still sell out, we will still watch the games, nobody is going to stop going or watching, let`s be realistic. We`ve had a crappy team for years and ticket sales go up every year. Changes need to be made but real changes, we need a real coach. No more Wade Philips/Jauron types, someone with a pulse
10/11/2009 10:22PM
I lost all hope
I seriously thought after first 2 games we could go 8-8..now that is just a pipe dream..rule #1 in life...never trust anyone named DICK(Nixon and Jauron 2 con men)
10/11/2009 11:01PM
Give Marshawn a proper home...
Marshawn's penalty was inexcusable... I played off his antics as funny for long enough. The guy is a dumb thug with a great gift for running the ball. Trade him to Baltimore where he'll fit right in. At least he'll get some touchdowns with his unnecessary roughness penalties...
10/11/2009 11:26PM
you suck Trent
man, you are just awful.. Alex, what the heck are you doing?!
10/11/2009 11:41PM
From the top now...
Since the Bills are a business, the blame has to go to the top. Would Ralph run his construction company the way he runs his team? I doubt it. If he did, there would be buildings falling down all over Detroit. Face it... Ralphie probably can't tie his own shoes anymore, let alone run a football team. If football is his passion, he needs to get passionate about it and stop trying to find bargain basement management. Ralph knows more about football than most of us, would have to after all these years, but not nearly enough to compete with other franchises. I fear that Ralph demise is going to be the only way thi Bills will improve. Problem being... it will be somewhere else.
10/11/2009 11:43PM
Cynical Prediction Comes True
Told everyone this game would be a tie and the Bills would find a creative way to lose. Taped game and went out with my wife to see a blues band at Heron Hill Winery in the Finger Lakes. WAKE UP BUFFALO FANS!!!! Stop buying tickets and selling out Wilson's stadium. That ancient geezer is a pure businessman happy to sell out a putrid product and make a great profit. Jauron should be the spokesman for funeral homes. A team that can lose every week and show no emotion during a game or during post game interviews is an insult to us loyal area sports fans! This year I am not watching another Bills game. This 33 year fan has to take time out on Sundays to find something constructive or at least relaxing to do. And Ralph! Move the team to Toronto or where ever. I'll call your bluff! Let some other city take over this cancer. By the way, I am erasing the game, not watching it!
10/12/2009 12:11AM
Jauron
ride the year out get the 1st over all pick get tebow or Mccoy then fire jauron
10/12/2009 12:18AM
give up
no.1 pick no coach no qb will change this team this team is looking like Detroit and is on a race out of WNY. highest bidder will get it. In the mean time they will try to pack the stadium win or lose, but it's over kids, it's all over. Take that extracash, assuming you have it and throw it at the Sabres. 82 games vs 16 and no playoffs is a much better deal.
keep your money and emotion away from this team.
It's over.
10/12/2009 1:06AM
go drrp
This problem goes much deeper than a terrible head coach. Ralph W. took the easy way out twice by not hiring a real football man as the GM. Now the team is paying for it. As a 90 year old man, he has no idea where to turn next. Maybe he could hire the stadium head of parking as the next GM and then let him choose the coach.
10/12/2009 1:18AM
Jauron for 2 more years
There's no way Jauron is getting fired. Ralph will eat about $8Mil if he fires him. It is much better to keep him here and save money than fire him and probably not do much better but be out $8Mil. I think he'll be here for 2 more years. Hopefully the fan base is OK with buying tickets for a non-playoff team until his contract is up or they might have reason to move. I wonder if there's any way we can play in the UFL for the next two years. At least it would be less of a national embarassment and we'd be more in our league.
10/12/2009 3:14AM
First game I've missed in 10 years
I picked a "great game" to miss! Can I get a refund on my seasons for the rest of the year?
10/12/2009 4:39AM
funny
"dick 'jauron has to be fired? hate to tell you Regeir and Quinn are no better and are as much an embarassment, why do they get a free pass? Both teams suck
10/12/2009 7:48AM
A Real Coach
Did anyone see the Pats, Denver game? At the end of the game the Pats had to punt, but received the ball back after a roughing the kicker penalty on the Broncos. Denver coach Josh McDaniels lost it on his special teams coach. He yelled at him for about five minutes on the sideline, and I thought to myself...that's what a coach is suppose to look like! A guy who can fire a team up. A guy who is pumped when they make a good play and furious when they screw up. After the Broncos big OT win McDaniels almost jumped into the crowd, pumping his fist in the air getting hugged and lifted up by his players. You can say all you want that players play the game and a win or loss is in their hands, but it starts and ends with coaching. No one can argue that if Dick Jauron was coaching the Denver Broncos yesterday, with the same talent on the field, they would have still won that game. What I saw yesterday on the Denver sideline was a guy who would do anything if it meant helping his team win. That's what "a real coach" looks like.
10/12/2009 7:57AM
Emotion
This team has none of it and that all stems from Dick Jauron. The only exception is Whitner who is out and T.O who was in the zone for a brief period of time. All you had to do was throw him the ball.

Virginia Whiner
Do we have to play the Jets next week??? Can we call it our bye week???
10/12/2009 8:23AM
BILLS FANS ARE ONE OF THE PROBLEMS!
It is official then...the Buffalo Bills have the longest steak of not making the playoffs.....so the Buffalo Bills are the absolute worst team in the NFL. Wow, and you Bills fans continue to support this team and sell out all the games??? You Buffalo fans have some major mental problems and issues. Is it really that boring there in WNY?
10/12/2009 8:25AM
Who would have thought..........
Who would have ever thought in 1999 that the Bills would never make the playoffs ever again? It is unbeliveable to think that way but it looks to be true. Because as long as Ralph owns the team, the Bills will never make the playoffs again. And we all know as soon as he dies, the team will be leaving Buffalo. So it looks to be true.....the Bills will never go to the playoffs ever again while in Buffalo, NY.
10/12/2009 9:02AM
When will the Bills relocate out of Buffalo??
OK....so when do you think the Bills will relocate out of Buffalo. Pick from the following: 1) When Ralph Wilson dies 2) As soon as the fans stop selling out the games and buying the merchandise 3)never 4) some other reason unknown
10/12/2009 9:15AM
SOS
Bring in Bill Cowher....quick
10/12/2009 9:36AM
Moorman #1
I have been on the Moorman band wagon for some time now, its pretty sad that the punter is/ and was our best player. 62-yard punt into the wind!! That man is awesome. Losman looked good thursday, its amazing how our coaching staffs have turned all the QB's into check down charlies!!!! Pathetic!!!
10/12/2009 10:17AM
Ralph
Is Ralph dead? That can be the only explanation for him not getting rid of the coach.
10/12/2009 11:35AM
Jauron
Dick Jauron is a football genius!!! A god amongst mere mortals...
10/12/2009 12:21PM
Rebuild
Rebuild this from the bottom up, starting with Trent Edwards and Dick Jauron.

10/12/2009 4:17PM
Yoda?
Losman quoted Yoda once and thats the measuring stick by which you are using to judge Edwards? You guys championed Edwards and helped toss Losman under the bus you have gotten what you asked for.

Albany Bills Fan
I have made my last trip to a Bills game in 09 -- basically I will be forgoing the rest of my seasons tickets -- first miss since 1992 -- I have been to faithful to this organization -- It has made a fool of me for the last time. Never again! Russ Brandon great marketing -- sign TO and sell tickets! this signing had nothing to do with winning games -- all about my hard earned money -- you all needed it -- I can say this my well is full but it has dried up for the Bills organization -- what a High School team you all filed every weekend! Your organization is a JOKE!
