Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- Terrence McGee was on crutches today as he had minor arthroscopic knee surgery. It was to clean out the knee which has landed him on the injury report the past few weeks. It's a 10 to 14 day thing so he's hoping to play a week from Sunday in Tennessee.
The Bills will work twice this week before Dick Jauron lets them go on their bye week vacations. Trent Edwards was again doing everything in individual drills. Many players are not practicing including Terrell Owens, Lee Evans, Josh Reed, Shawn Nelson, Marcus Stroud, Kyle Williams, Aaron Schobel, Chris Kelsay, Jamon Meredith, Keith Ellison, Corey McIntyre, Jairus Byrd, Terrence McGee, Donte Whitner and Justin Jenkins. Jonathan Scott was working on his own with a trainer.
Edwards says he's feeling better all the time and is thinking of flying home to California during the break which I can tell you from experience, will be a test for his head. As far as today and next week goes the quarterback said, "I felt good, did a little more today in practice and I feel like I'm getting better each day and getting stronger and just pretty happy with the progress. I hope to be able to go full practice next week, but honestly that's not up to me right now, just focusing on today and we got another practice tomorrow and then we get away a little bit so I'll continue to heal and get better. As far as my weight lifting and conditioning program, I'm still doing a little more each day." Edwards said his headaches are gone, but.."There are other symptoms we need to look at and evaluate with the medical staff and they're doing a great job with me and I'm being honest with them and that's all I can ask for."
Bryan Scott was going full bore and practice and working with the linebackers. When I asked the SS if he's a LB now Scott said, "No I think it's just in case of emergency and make sure I'm prepared. I did it some last year, just get a few practices at weak side linebacker. I probably won't have to do it. but we'd rather be safe than sorry." Scott said he would be comfortable if he had to do it, "Oh, no question I got most of the work last year, it's just a different read now instead of playing eight yards back as a safety, you're down in the box."
