Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- The Bills are on the field at the stadium after their four days away.
Trent Edwards went full go in practice and is looking good for Sunday in Tennessee. Edwards said, "I should be cleared and ready to go. I'm excited to be able to help the team out in what ever capacity that I can and just try to do what I can this week and get ready to go." Dick Jauron did not make himself available to comment on Edwards status.
With former Bucs and Colts coach Tony Dungy remarking that QB Michael Vick would be a good fit in Buffalo next season, Edwards was asked his thoughts on the possibility, "You know, I got asked this question this offseason when he was figuring out where to go and it's really out of my control. We have guys upstairs working on those personnel moves and if they feel like that's going to be the best fit for this team and if they feel like it's going to help us win football games, than I'm sure they're going to do that without my opinion on it. So, It doesn't really matter what I think about it." Lee Evans didn't seem too fond of the idea, "I didn't hear anything about it, but I don't know, probably not. I love him as a player and everything he's done for the league, but I don't know if it's something we'd aggressively go after." Donte Whitner said, "If we have the opportunity to get Michael Vick I believe he would be a good fit. I believe that he's a great football player. He's not really in the swing of things right now having all that time off, but with a full year of conditioning under his belt and getting with the right people helping him get his mechanics back, I believe he can pick up where he left off. I would encourage whoever to bring Michael Vick in." Fred Jackson added, "Anytime you add a playmaker like that to any roster it would be a good add, but that's not up to me but I would welcome him." The Bills released this statement in late afternoon, “He is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and we have no comment on it.”
Being 3-5 the question is did the Bills use their bye week wisely. Jackson said, "We had time to evaluate ourselves and see where we want to go and see where we can get to make a run at these last eight games to try to make the playoffs so there was plenty of time to make some adjustments." Jackson has been close to none existent since Marshawn Lynch was handed the position back. Jackson seems to get better on carries 10 through 20, but he never gets there anymore. Jackson said, "It's an adjustment. As a RB you'd like to get into a groove and it's been hard to do that, but as an offense we'll get more plays if we stay on the field on third down which would get us into that groove."
Donte Whitner, Jonathan Scott and Jairus Byrd were all back to work taking part in individual drills. Terrence McGee was not out there as he recovers from minor knee surgery. Corey McIntyre was very limited. Others not practicing were Keith Ellison, Jamon Meredith, Aaron Schobel and Kyle Williams.
