Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- With speculation out there on who may be the next coach of the Bills, the team has responded with this release, “The Bills organization is focused on the next seven games and the efforts of Coach Fewell, the coaching staff and our players. We understand there will be much speculation regarding the head coaching position, but we will not comment during the process until a new head coach has been announced.”
RT Jonathan Scott was back on the practice field after missing time for personal reasons. DT Kyle Williams was taking part in individual drills while CB Terrence McGee practiced with a trainer. Roscoe Parrish was back from illness.
Not practicing today are Justin Jenkins, Ashton Youboty, Jairus Byrd, Nic Harris, Keith Ellison, Demetrius Bell and Marcus Stroud. Harris is sick.
Trent Edwards walked through the locker room for the first time in two days today. He went to his locker, pulled out a book, kept his back to the assembled media around him, never looked up and left. Say what you want about J.P. Losman, but he stood up and faced every question when he got benched.
The new QB Brian Brohm was in jersey #4. He wore 11 in Green Bay which Parrish now has. He came from Green Bay, you figure out why he's wearing what he is now. Brohm was the Pack's second round pick in 2008 out Louisville. Perry Fewell talked about why Brohm has been signed, "We're constantly evaluation our roster and we feel like this is a good opportunity to bring a guy in and evaluate him." With the Bills quarterbacking situation in flux, the question remains will Brohm see playing time. Fewell said, "I think it's difficult, however we'll work with him every day, we'll see how much he absorbs every day and then we'll take it day by day." Brohm was beaten out by a 7th round pick this season. He said, "It's a fresh start, getting in here with a new group of guys, new offense, kind of start over and make a new first impression and hopefully make a good one." Brohm had a great career at Louisville, but the problems grew in Green Bay. He said, "I got off to a bad start. There were some issues, it got in my head confidence wise maybe where I got of to a bad start and really never got things rolling. I put that bad first impression out there, you know that's not me. I played better this preseason and I've gotten better this entire time and I feel very confident in my abilities right now."
