All signs point to a big holiday gift for second-year quarterback Brian Brohm.
Although interim coach Perry Fewell was non-committal on naming this weekend's starting quarterback, Brohm took the repetitions at practice while Ryan Fitzpatrick did not participate.
"I feel very good about it," Brohm said, "I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity if that's the way we decide to go." It would be the first NFL start of his young career, but the former Louisville star is just going about it as any other game he's ever played. "I think the biggest thing is cutting it loose and not worrying about anything, just having a lot of fun."
Lee Evans commented on Brohm's progression throughout the week saying, "He's gotten a little better day to day. I think the communication has gotten better day to day, and understanding what's expected of him has gotten better day to day. It's been an improvement throughout the week."
Fitzpatrick is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Atlanta, with an ankle injury. Not taking part in practice along with Fitzpatrick was Trent Edwards, Drayton Florence, Todd Johnson and Bryan Scott.
It was a festive morning at One Bills Drive in honor of it being Christmas Day, with Josh Reed singing "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer", Perry Fewell donning a Santa Claus hat, and the song "It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year" blaring through the speakers as the team started their scrimmage portion of practice.
The Bills and Falcons kick off at 1 o'clock on Sunday.
