(WGR 550) -- Make it two teams that have taken far less time than the Sabres to give up on the talent of Ales Kotalik.
The perturbed forward is no longer part of John Tortorella's stable in New York, as the Rangers shipped him and Chris Higgins to Calgary for an oft-traveled player with better numbers. It will be Kotalik's fourth team in a calendar year (Sabres, Oilers, Rangers and Flames).
Olli Jokinen is headed to Broadway along with Flames prospect Brandon Prust, who had been traded to-and-from Calgary in the last year.
Jokinen has averaged about 34 goals-per-season since his break-out 2002-03 campaign in Florida. The center was the third-overall pick in the 1997 entry draft, and left Los Angeles after just two seasons. The Rangers will be his sixth team, joining the Kings, Islanders, Panthers, Coyotes and Flames. 2008-09 was his first playoff season.
Higgins was a key component in the trade that sent Scott Gomez to Montreal, but has been a massive disappointment for New York. He's scored just six times with eight assists in 55 games, posting a minus-9.
