TSN in Canada is reporting that Thrashers forward Ilya Kovalchuk could be traded soon. The network reports that Thrashers GM Don Waddell met with Kovalchuk on Wednesday and told him to expect a trade within a few hours or days.
The Bruins, Kings, Rangers and Blackhawks are some of the teams rumored to be in the hunt. The Sabres have not been mentioned as players for the talented forward. The 26-year old's contract expires after this season.
Rob Ray made his gameday appearence with Mike Schopp and the Bulldog. Ray spoke with TSN and learned that the Hurricanes and Kings were close to pulling off a trade that would send forward Ray Whitney from Carolina to Los Angeles, but Whitney wanted 3-year contract extension to lift his no-trade clause.

What`s The Fuss
Why would getting another goal scorer ruin the chemistry of a team that is made up of mostly muckers? Everybody is hard on Vanek when he is the only guy on this team that is always around net taking a beating to try and score goals. Thats because it`s the only way he get the puck when he play`s with guy`s that get him the puck "Roy or Stafford". Why are those two guy`s getting free pass. I`d trade both and Gerbe for Kovy and then sign him long term. Throw Adam Mair in there two he`s always good for one or two penalties a game.
