Maybe Next Year; Andre Reed Not Among 2010 HOF Class

Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Reed will have to wait another year to join the ranks of the NFL's elite.

The 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame's class has been announced, and Reed has been passed by the comittee for another year.

Among the class of 2010 are Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, John Randle, Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau and Floyd Little. All seven men were named as finalists shortly before finding out that they were all a part of the next batch of members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

But if there's one thing Reed can take solace in, it's the list before the finalists that could pay dividends in the coming years. Andre Reed was the only wide receiver besides Jerry Rice to make the cut on the list of the final ten.

That means wide receivers Cris Carter and Tim Brown, who were on the list of the final fifteen modern day candidates, were both eliminated from consideration before Reed. Those are two players said to be Reed's stiffest competition to get in.

He deserves it!
I look forward to next year. Reed was a class act and one amazing wr. Neither Carter or Tim Brown have a superbowl victory. Reed was an instrumental part of the 4 straight superbowls. It seems like 4 consecutive superbowls out weighs anything else in the eyes of the Hall of Fame voters....as it should because it will never be done again!!!

what a shame
Tim Brown, Cris Carter and Andre Reed's number speak for them selves, why are those 3 being snubbed, yes they're not jerry rice's number, but still? Emmitt Smith doesn't deserve to be in, I'm not saying it because i hate thecowgirls, but he was only a great back, because he had a good line, and Barry Sanders retired early, I am not happy with the voting except for rice, and LeBeu

If We Win, He's In
It's sad another year and no HOF for Reed, I bet if the Bills make it to the playoffs next year it would help him out cause I still think the only reason Andre Tippet got in a couple years ago was because the Pats were in the Super Bowl. If they win people will talk and say "remember those super bowl years, those guys were good" it's sad cause a lot of those guys should be in the HOF. Reed, Talley, Tasker, Hull, and Ritcher to say a few. I hope next year is the year for both Reed and the Bills.

What a Joke
Football HOF voting is a joke: it's secretive and has quotas, unlike baseball's process. The fact the TThomas had to wait is further evidence of this.

re: what a shame
Saying Emmitt Smith should not be in is ridiculous

No wait
Thurman didn't have to wait!

Yes, he did
Thurman was not a first ballot entry, which he clearly deserved to be.
