The Buffalo Bills had high hopes for tight end Tony Moeaki if he could stay healthy. As they, like teams before them found out, Moeaki just could not keep himself on the field.
The Bills relinquished Moeaki from their official roster on Monday with the announcement that the two parties had come to an injury settlement. The tight end was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve on Friday, which led the team to release him outright to start the practice week.
Moeaki missed four of the team's five preseason games with a hamstring injury and also missed the majority of practice time during training camp at St. John Fisher College as well. After coming to a settlement, Moeaki will be free to sign with any team he chooses as an unrestricted free agent.
The Bills originally signed the tight end in December of 2013.
the fans don't believe and either do the players. if he is our so called leader he would have been voted in by his teammates. Hay coach the writings on the wall!
The Bills gave up on him just when hes almost ready to play...he will go elsewhere and play great.
Please get us a new QB,Not fair to fans all these years of losing.
Please keep looking for a QB. Bring everybody in for a tryout. It might light a fire under EJ to step up.
new owner, new multi-level management
This organization has been in a state of death throes for a VERY long time now…81 wins over the past 14 seasons of 224 games with NO playoff appearance is just the tip of the iceberg of turmoil with this franchise. Evidence? Why did only 3 groups show any interest in buying this franchise? Even the former NBA Buffalo Braves garnered a $2BILLION offer. This year’s candidates for the 2014 campaign for the Lombardi are no different. Expect a 36% winning season at best! The underlying root of the entire debacle is within the organizations management structure. Leadership, there is none. The current brand (no pun intended) of leadership stems from within the organization to be the highest ranking senior executive position all the way down to the water boy. Winning and winning attitude starts at the top. Without leadership, there is no direction, without direction; there is no course of action to follow. Put it this way: Besides the Custer Debacle, will the US Military EVER take or engage in direct combat action without an executable plan or a contingency of back up plans to fall on? So why does this hapless outfit of misirected fools believe they can engage an opponent every Sunday without a plan?
Coaches and players cannot move forward without clear guidance, directives, initiatives and support from senior level management. No sense of urgency or desire to win coupled with no support at any level equates to Status quo Buffalo! End of story.
When a new owner appears, I truly hope there will be a major purging at every level of Front Office positions of importance and get rid of the non-productive or no value added deadbeat coat tail riders and bring in new blood, hungry for doing it right the first time and rebuild this pathetic excuse of an NFL Franchise into something that it truly should be: a permanent home to many Lombardi trophys.
Winning should be contagious, an epidemic in proportion. The Buffalo Bills should be respected and feared throughout the NFL, not a win column record padder that they currently are. End of story.
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER ELI MANNING. WON ONE GAME FIRST YEAR. BUT HE WAS THEIR GUY, SO INSTEAD OF GIVING UP THEY COACHED HIM UP. HE HAS RINGS. IN THAT SAME YEAR, J.P. LOSMAN WAS OUR GUY. HE STARTED 4 GAMES AND WAS CANNED. NO FAITH, NO COMMITMENT= LOSING FOOTBALL. BECOME A PATRIOT FAN. HAVE SOME PRIDE IN YOURSELVES.
